Hi im in the process of doing the engine on my vespa v90cc, I want to put a kit and upgrade 3 to 4 gears. I don't want to change the crank if possible if anyone has any ideas on what be decent, I dont want a super fast scoot but something that will give me some decent speed and ok for reliability for ride outs and meet ups. I've seen so much can do but I just thought maybe someone has been or done similar thing, thanks hopefully I've put this up on correct thread. All stay safe Darren.

I have a 90 with a malossi 135 kit and 4 speed gearbox with short 4th and can't fault it 👍 and a friend has a 90 with a pollini kit that also has 4 speed gearbox, and that also goes well. There are so many choices depending on your budget and mechanical skills.

I would like to go down the poloni set up, mechanical work ok, i was seeing what other set up on there scoots are doing, my budget is ok but I don't want to go expensive to go like a rocket, just a decent speed and reliable still to go out on ride outs and local rally when we can. I'd want to do the cylinder carb gearing and exhaust I don't want to spend money then i set up waste, I like to see what others have found works well and will get a good set up, im looking at doing it next few weeks and have been on Internet si long my eyes are crossed so all advice would be very grateful cheers darren

I would like to say around £1000, my main issue is that work being done is local as not many shops doing mechanical work and the person I know has a 2 week period. I've got to make some dession soon as I need to order parts.

That is a good budget, and you on the smallframe forum? If not I suggest you go there and post your requirements and see what they say, there are some very knowledgeable people on there like Henry and max who know smallframe engine like the back of their hand
