Hi, I've just picked up a 63 GL that has a lml 2t in it. As this brings my total of active scooters up to 7, I need to be economical in the upgrade. I was going to pick up a flowed crank from SIP.
I notice polini have a new alu 177 kit out and their previous iron 177 kits are well discounted. Is that a good economical route?
And what is the right flowed crank to match with this?
Thanks David

Nice introduction, welcome to the forum 👋👋 I've got a Rally 200, two Tv175 S3, a SX200, a li150, and a modern gtv250ie. The GL I got for free. I know alot about lambretta because my rally just works. I've only had to work on it once in 15 years. I'm based in Toronto. We don't have as many barn finds as we used to, but some of my scooters I got with a few hundred miles on them or very cheap by UK prices. I passed on 2 GLs last year and a 53 handle bar vespa with Alu cowls. I'm out of space so pass along to mates in our club.

The 53, was that a rod model?

The 53, was that a rod model? A department store called Sears sold vespa under a brand called Allstate out of a mail order catalog. Its why vespa can be found in barns in the middle of nowhere. Parts hard to get fo farmers would bodge repair and then they would just sit in a shed with other broken machines. Here is a link to the pictures of it. It had been painted black. Someone started to strip it to bare metal, lost interest and left it. Hence the light rust. A local mechanic is going to give it a full resto. I would of heavily modified it if I kept it, and several scootsr friends would of shunned me if I did, so passed it on. drive.google.com/folderview?id=1X7mLnJCZaCYpMNkmEX_zpkHxjct1vi-F

Never worry about any modifications, if it gets another back onto the road, then what does it matter. I got shunned from the local scooter community because I look like a greaser and ride a Vespa. I say f**k them.... 😎
