Hi folks, apologies if there is something obvious I'm missing, but here goes!
I tried to start my scoot (2002 px125) which had been unused for about 3 months a couple of weeks back with no success - electric start wasn't working (completely dead), tried kicking it, it coughed and spluttered a bit, but just wouldn't start. Over the next couple of days i tried the kick again, it was turning over (or sounded like it) but just not starting. Didn't try bump starting it at that point as i thought it might have been the battery. What I've done since then is....
- Replaced battery. Lights and electric start not working when ignition on. Battery is new and fully charged, but appears to be dead when in the scoot!
- Replaced spark plug. Old plug was manky, covered in soot.
- Cleaned out carb. It was full of fuel, fuel also in the bottom of the housing
- Removed spark plug, kicked a few times to clean out fuel
- Reattached the air filter inlet hose which had come away from the frame of the scoot
- Replaced the fuse
- Tried bump starting it, sounds like it might be starting, but then nothing
- When I try to kick start it now, the low fuel light flashes on every kick, as does the rear light (though lights are off and there's plenty fuel)
I think it might have a few problems, but is there anything I can do to try and narrow down what might be causing it? There's obviously an issue with the electrics, but even if I can get it started to take up to the garage I'd be happy!
Anything that anyone can suggest would be really appreciated. Thanks for your time, guys.
