Good evening,I have a fault with my brake light. It comes on briefly when the brake pedal is pressed, but goes straight out. It doesn't appear to come on at all with the brake lever, any thoughts?

An electrical multi meter is a great help for this sort of thing, and they are really cheap nowadays, so you can check for power and continuity in wiring and connectors, older models only have a brake pedal light switch and no switch on the front brake, but obvious things like bulb, bulb holder and electrical connectors would be a basic starting point.

Finally got round to tracing brake light fault, tested old switch and had no continuity in either position. Tested new switch in open position and have continuity but dont when switch is pressed down. Do I have a faulty switch or am I missing something?
