When I blip my 2012 PX 125 throttle the response is a bit sluggish and I wondered if anyone has a link to a vid of a typical normal throttle response. My engine runs great and even with my lardy dimensions it get up to a decent top speed. I've fiddled with my carburation and I don't think the idle jet is far off as the engine revs drop back down to tickover quickly and it is fairly even. Once the motor's up to temp there are no flat spots as I rejetted to pre cat spec. Is it just carburation or can ignition timing be a factor ? Finally I was hoping to do a compression test which is straight forward but also a leak down test which I'm finding a bit confusing. I get how you can plug the exhaust up, but how do you seal the inlet if you run a normal SI carb? Cheers Kev.

Hi Kev,
TBH if it's crisp once off low throttle and it settles quickly to a nice idle, then I wouldn't bother with a leakdown test.
Your symptoms point to it being too rich at the bottom end, unless really bad you should be able to dial this out with the mixture screw.
Just re-read, as it's ok when warm, I'd check your choke jet, are these the same pre/post cat...

Yes Shaun bog standard si20/20. The only change I made was based on the scooter mag recommendation in a past tuning article as the 2011 on model ran very lean to get through eu emissions. So a pre cat pilot jet and a number 8 throttle slide. I'm not going to go mad as I'm hoping to get a barrel kit and sip road 2 in the near future.
