Hello everyone. Has anyone with a px 125 melted their cowl? Did you bother to replace? If so with what? If not did the whole world explode or made no difference? Just wondered if you can get one slightly bigger one. Grateful of any help.

If you mean the plastic cowl that covers the cylinder then it must be replaced asap as it directs the cool air from the flywheel to where its needed most ie the barrel and head. Without it you run the risk of overheating and heat seizure. Im not sure why you would need a bigger one or if they are commercially available. How did you manage to melt it?

Hello thanks for your reply. Parmakit and it's only really where a few of the fins are but them bits have gone through. Should still be getting some air flow not sure how much no point in buying another if it'll just do it again. ?

I seem to melt mine on the small frame , so treat it as a service item, as I is cheaper than seizing

Didn't have mine on for 2 years and that thing ran ok. You could always cannibalise some big id ducting of sorts. Since it's running a Parmakit.

I'm in favour of a new one. But I'm not above the odd hatchet job. So long as it dont look like one! (The scoot belongs to me mate)
