Hi all, advice and guidance needed please. I’ve just bought a what I told was a Vbb1t 150 1961, basket case which had been imported from India off flea bay, with nova reference. However I bought this off someone who had started to attempt to rebuild it badly, and not direct from the company who imported it so when It came it has a copy of the nova reference from dvla, is this sufficient for me to register it once complete? Or do I need the original? the letter copy from the dvla explains all duty’s have been paid and has the frame number on it. I’m really hoping I haven’t wasted my money. If needed does anyone know how to obtain the correct documents.
Also after looking into it it has a Bajaj 150 engine with Vespa / piaggio parts, are these ok engines? from what I can see they are pretty much the same ( however it would have been nice to have the correct Vespa unit ).
Any advice would be appreciated thanks, Mike.

You should be able to ring the dvla and speak to them about it, providing you can get through the merry go round of people etc. I had to do this for a bike of mine.

Have you been in touch with Rob Skipsey at all? He's just up the road in Newport, near Gilberdyke (at least, that's where he used to live!) and he was always helpful.
