Hi guys. Recently sold my PX125 and got myself a PX200 which is all good now I've replaced a few cosmetic items BUT the electrics are something to be desired...
When I got it home after buying the headlight seemed to be very dim and was affecting the indicators so I did some investigation and found a 6V 60W bulb installed in the headlight
This has now been swapped for a 12V 35W bulb and it seems to work ok. The only issue I'm having is with the speedo. I can't get the thing to illuminate with the headlights. If I remove the speedo and chuck 12V through the circuit in my shed it lights up fine so I'm thinking it's not the speedo itself but something else. One other thing is the headlight switch, the switch goes from off - 1 - 2 rather than 1 - off - 2 like my old PX did; could it be the wrong type of switch?
I've checked the continuity on the wires to the speedo and black is obviously an earth but the grey also earths out, is this wrong? It's had the starter and switch removed but also the battery removed so I'm in new territory here.
Sorry for all the questions, I can't seem to find anyone with a PX near me that can let me have a dig about on their loom

Yeah it's a real head scratcher. I'm tempted to bite the bullet and order a SIP speedo but I don't want to spend out then have the same problem and be left with a digital garage ornament.
I'll have a good poke about with the multi meter with the scoot running tomorrow if the rain decides to hold off for any length of time. Only trouble with that is I'm considered to be a bit anti social 😂
I've ordered a new headlight/horn switch anyways as it was relatively cheap and I'm 100% sure after chatting to a local garage that it's the wrong one for the year so I'll see what happens once that's fitted too.
