Hi I've had my px 125cc 6months now and need to go a bit faster! Which kit would you recommend or just swapping my 125 for a 200cc engine? Cheers

Malossi kit. 200 engines are rare.

Hi mate. I've got a friend who has a 200cc engine that I could have, just wondering which one would perform better, speed etc Cheers

I depends on what you want. If you want The same reliability with more speed, go with the 200 transplant, it wont be as quite fast as a kit but should be more reliable. And later, if your willing to trade reliability for speed, a kitted 200 should fit the bill. The quest for speed can be quite the rabbit hole to go down, and riding on on the razors edge of tuning can sometimes take the fun out of it. J

Take the 200cc and like Jedi says, kit that. A 166 Malossi does run well but the 200 offers more reliability...

I would also take the 200cc motor every day of the week, and it too can be made faster if required, the 200cc engines are quite sought after and fetch strong money these days so go for it unless it is crazy money, after all you can buy a DR kit and performance exhaust for a less than £300.

A well set up Polini iron ( check freak mopeds YouTube video's) or Alloy (too expensive) 177 kit will be reliable and blows standard 200 engine out the water! Depends what you want the engine to do, their are many kits that are very good.

Ironsloth, yes I have one tucked away 😉, may put it on one of my engines, not sure, as also have a shortened and ported Polini barrel in my shed, that I tuned in the late 80's, was fecking rapid, but needed a better quality piston and rings, which were unavailable at the time. They are available now though, so who knows? Lol 😱.

Mij☺ I should add to the above, nearly any 166/177/180 ect, that is set up well will make more power(HP) and speed, than a standard 200cc . If you don't have the knowledge or money to get someone to build it, or don't want too, at least fit a competition/ race crank or a standard crank that has had its ( fuel)inlet timing increased, when you fit the kit.
