Hi, after some knowledge and expertise please; I have a 2007 PX125. Has a dr177 kit, 24mm carb, 116 main jet, standard exhaust.
Has had a couple of soft siezes when at full throttle so I decided to purchase a Polini 177 to replace. Also purchased a sip road 2 and got a few more jets (120, 122).
I am new to 'tinkering' with scoots and, although I have spent many hours googling, you tubing, trawling on forums and reading the Haynes manual several times, I do still have a question about fitting the new barrel:
Is it necessary to use any lube when putting in the piston. If so, do I use engine oil or normal 2-stroke? Is it necessary to use a gasket sealant? Am I in the right ball-park regarding jet sizes?

Not the same Kit but here is an install video of a new Cylinder kit on a smaller CC Vespa - - might be of some help

Your jetting sounds to be in the ball park so start rich and work back from there. Gasket sealant is not required but lots of people use it anyway. Yes some oil helps the rings slide into barrel, I would just use 2 stroke.

I have a 177 Pinasco kit on my VBB with a 20:20 Delorto and SIP road 2 - Had my jetting at 112 for the main but found it very rich, lots of white smoke so knocked it down to 100 as it was all I had on me and no smoke - brought a 105 to see how a middle ground size would be as I wonder if the 100 is too lean. Comes this week so will report back
