Here I am, feeling a bit down and sorry for myself, as I can't get to sleep for my aches and pains and waiting on my painkillers kicking in, so having a wee surf on the web. Haven't looked at the"not so modern" section of the modern vespa forum for a wee while, come to that, not been on this forum as much lately too, then I come across this πand things are in perspective again. modernvespa.com/forum/topic164380 I am so sad and upset ,I've never met Bitza, but remember posting on here about how upset I was when someone knocked his scooter over, while he was fighting cancer, I was so upset, I offered him, in a post on here , a T5 horncover to replace his damaged one! Said at the time, it's funny how you feel you "know" someone, just by reading the many posts they make on a forum you read and I'm not even a member of the Modern Vespa Forum! Any way a kind member of the Modern Vespa Forum ( I'm sorry, I've forgotten your name π³) passed the message on to Bitza, so in a small way, we connected through our love of Vespa scooters, Also since reading about his love of Motorhead, every time I've heard them over the last few years, he always comes to mind. RIP Bitza and condolences to "our Lass" your Son, family and friends. Ride free. Jim/mij .π’

This is how Bitza (Jim) first told his modern Vespa, not so modern forum, Brothers and Sisters of his cancer π. modernvespa.com/forum/topic156286What a great bunch they are on that forum, the replies to his message were heart felt and heart warming. Mij.π’

I've had a few interactions with Jim/Bitza over the years and he was indeed a great character and something of a one-off. There is a longer thread/tribute in the General Discussion section of that forum which underlines the affection in which he was held. A great loss the scootering family. RIP Jim.

Robjack, thank you, I will add the link. The world is indeed a less interesting place for his passing. modernvespa.com/forum/topic164312Paddlenround posted this link on the Modern Vespa Forum website, calling it "Classic Bitza" and he's correct, lol. modernvespa.com/forum/topic156797RIP Jim/Bitza.
