I've mentioned them here before on this site but I've bought a couple of jackets from a company in the US called Corazzo, you will find them if you google the name. I got the bomber jacket and what they call the 'shop' jacket and have been very pleased with both. Good quality, look good and have a degree of protection. The first one I ordered got held up somewhere in transit and the owner sent another out no questions asked so I was impressed with the service too. Not that expensive at the moment with the current exchange rate too.

Ebay has some good deals on jackets. I got a Cordura textile, padded & waterproof with elbow & shoulder protection only paid £30 new. Forget the Belstaff's unless your minted. Best gloves i've got are ex military leather from army surplus about £15 new warm & waterproof. Army surplus also have Gortex jackets £40

Don't forget, anything other than a proper bike jacket will just shred if you come off your scooter. And an MA1 will just burst like an old duvet. All they're good for is sewing your patches on. I've got an RST 'Parka', complete with token hood and little 'fishtail'. Very waterproof and windproof, armoured elbows and shoulders, but the fastenings on RST jackets are notoriously sh*t. Here's me doing a catalogue pose in it at the Isle of Man rally:

Spence should back me up onthis one....... Army issue goretex is poo! It lulls you into a false sense of security by keeping out any water for a full 10 minutes and then let's it all in at once! Better saving your pennies and going to hein Gerricke for a decent set.

Yes Android, got mine from that very same company, but mine was actually marked as Vespa/Lambretta scooter jacket. They still have the womens jackets, beige colour. Keep watching their website and they seem to have good stocks. Mines a Wiese good make.

I've also got a ladies Alpinestar summer jacket, but disappointingly it doesn't have any reflective strips on - has good shoulder/elbow protection though. Not that I'm recommending this particular jacket to you or anything!

Andy the jacket looks better in the 'flesh' and is not too bulky. So it's kinda like a jacket and not a coat......does that make sense ?

Just to my 2p's worth in I have the Corazzo shop jacket and I have to say i am most impressed. Good Armour, waterproof and not too bulky.Although I'm not sure if they have any outlets in the UK yet, It might be a case of ordering from the US.

Saw some Corazzo jackets over in the states and fell in love with them, unfortunately didn't have the cash at the time. Phoned Corazzo to find out if they supplied to the UK and was told no but that they were looking into it and hoped to have something in place by the new year. In the meantime, if you email them, they are happy to ship direct but does add a bit to the cost.

I've got a Frank Thomas jacket which is great, it's got a zip out padded liner which I've never used (Could have something to do with my own padding though). In fact, if anything it's a bit too warm and I could do with a summer jacket. Like the look of those Corazzo ones but I would prefer to try on a jacket before I bought one. I used to wear a Belstaff, which was cool but, erm, too cool and leaky with it. Had to keep re-waxing it to stay dry. Saw a fella on a lammy recently with a tan coloured Belstaff and I've got to say he stood out from the crowd. I know Belstaff have re-invented themselves, so have they improved their materials as well or are they still waxed cotton?

Yep, Corazzo now available through VE, though not the full range that is available in the States. www.corazzo.co.uk shows the styles available, colours and prices. About £40 dearer than in the States but unless you are going over on holiday, you'd pay about that much to get it shipped over anyway.

I combine it with my Home Bargains 99p hi-vis vest for maximum cool

I went to the army and navy stores, and asked if they had any camouflage trousers. The man said " yes, we have plenty but we can't find them ! "

If anyone's in the market for a good pair of summer gloves for a decent price, you might want to take a look at these... www.army-surplus.org.uk/viper-tactical-gloves-new-p-2968.htmlThey were recommended to me by a biker mate at work who has them. I've just got some and I reckon you'd pay at least double this for a similar pair at a motorcycle shop. They're leather with suede palms and have padding on the back and fingers. Apparently they are what the Feds use when they're shooting people.
