Had a SS180 in 1970 and the other make GP200 ( new in 1971 ). Had Nortons and other Jap bikes like a Ninja. Now getting old and still have two BSA's on the road. Considering getting a Vespa, I like the P200E Disc and am currently looking. Do all P200E have electric start ? What years were the Mark1 & 2 produced. Should I worry about small rust bubbles in the normal place on the floorboards. Anything else to worry about please ? Looking forward to scooter ride-outs again around Essex. Thanks.

Hi and welcome, so many questions from a newbie! No, not all P200E's have electric start. The "E" refers to electronic ignition as opposed to the points system. The mk1s first appeared late 1977 thru to about mid 80's when they were updated to PX200. Im not sure when electric starts first made an appearance but it may have been in the early 90's (?). Small rust bubbles should be OK, its typical to find this on most vespa floor panels. I think you main worry would be to find any 200 at all, since they are becoming quite rare. May be an option to get a 125 or 150 and then kit it up as required. New 250cc engine cases will be available from Pinasco soon!!

Like you I have had things with large diameter wheels & now aged 60 it is a PX 125 boosted to 166. Enjoyable? Got 2 wheels! "Lady come let the action begin"!!
