Hi all, I have a 1965 150 VBB2T, it is fitted with an engine I cannot identify. I have tried the usual Italian, Spanish, Indian and Vietnamese routes, but all to no avail. I hope someone on here can throw some light on this. The engine number is as follows, :- CAT B 11X33 x 1M *332164* I have used asterisks where there were stars. As an aside it is running really strong and has a delorto 20/20 fitted. Any help would be great, thanks.

Is it on 8” or 10” wheels?
VBB2T engine and derivatives usually have a single brake pivot point on the casings which means they can only use the 4 stud hubs and 8” wheels, so knowing this would narrow it down to either engine from same period or a post 1967 motor.
Same as Henri, Douglas engines I’ve seen have been different, only had numbers, no prefix.

Must be a later engine then, or a sprint/GL type engine of around the same time as they are only ones which had 10” wheels.
Presume it’s still on 6v and points?

Must admit, not looked at that yet, bryno. Although it is running strong, I put a scope down the plug hole, and found the bore has a couple of scores. I will probably leave well alone till it needs more work.

If it's running right and running well, best leave it and keep it going. Sometimes a scored barrel won't even make it fart... The Mrs ran her Anglia with a badly scored number 4 barrel, dam thing did over 90mph on a standard setup!!
