to be honest ,the management knows the value of my stuff an exactly how many muckles makes a mickle .living with a tight-arse lancs lad brought up to be careful with his "brass" she'd have too .that an i cant help but boast about the bargains i find ,this "vulture" never sleeps an feeds well on the carcasses of other mens failed dreams.occasionally i feel guilty about this ,but the feeling soon passes ,usually when the nxt bargains walked up the garden by the postie . My mrs would sell all my car and scoot stuff for 50p just to spite me... Nasty little sod... Probably didn't help when I told her that I would break all her motors for parts and build a Hillman Minx... Then scrap the rest π this wasn't even a heated debate, I just told her that my will would be enforced and she would have to keep 1 scoot running for the rest of her natural... π

Today I've mostly been p*shed off.... After a long fight with the t**ts at the Vespa club of Britain and the DVLA, (this went on for 4 years, for the Vespa club to do the dirty on me, long annoying story....) my V reg 83 scoot laid untouched for 2 years since the end of that pharcicle row, until today. Sold the engine to a mate of mine for a P range conversion on a 60s scoot, going to spend the rest of the time waiting for the local council to give me the nod for my garage proposal, and plotting the rebuild of this now "lost registration" f**king Q plate Vespa (FVL 306X if anyone wants any history on it, I know most of it, just in case anyone succeeds in getting it.... π‘π€), into a Reliant powered trike. These two "b*st**d factions" have forced my hand, it starts from now. I know some of you lot are in the VCB, but I have my reasons, those bunch of...... Ahem, I'll stop there..... π. They will never have my help, or history of my scoots, and I figured out today (this will sound strange, but it never really dawned on me.... π) I have 5 of these dam things. The others will stay relatively odd, but this will be my headscratcher, pig thing of a project where hopefully between getting annoyed with it, I'll finally finish one of the others π. Well I'm going to get off my soapbox, as I can hear creaking noises, will stay in my mild state of p*shedoffness until I get the nod..... π I'm having a well earned beer to drown my sorrows of a fallen scoot....

have my own feelings towards VCB ,there are some nice guys in it ,but the ruling "committee"/clique seem to be niggling small minded small town "good citizens" middle class wonks . got sick of being bottom of the pile for dating certs coz i wasnt a member .an theve set them selves up as the arbiters of what is an isnt a true vespa ,strangely found the lambretta club uk much more welcoming an accepting of differences ,go figure. but then i never expected vcb to like me ,i dont own 1 pair of slacks or slip on shoes ,am not interested in ride outs at 15mph .an couldnt give a polished turd that my scoots arent painted in the year correct shade an arent original. i mean piaggio used galvanised bolts coz they was cheap,i live near the nut n bolt shop so stainless are cheap ,cheaper than re-galvanising 60 year old chewed up "original" junk.use to sometimes enter shows for a laugh ,with a sign saying "improved/original" ,after a while was sussed for taking the pish an suddenly there was never enuff space for me . ive been more welcomed at MAG rallys ,i dont do cliques ,sad they seem to want to all ride identical machines with a rigid hierarchy, bet there all royalist brexit lovers who secretly wanted to vote ukip but didnt have the nerve .i blame Theresa may on the VCB , bet rees-mogg's a member too . Ironsloth and henri, have the same sort of feelings about them myself, tried to get a Sportique reged through them a few years ago and gave up and sold it on, due to the lack of help from them, used to be a member years ago, but never felt any benefit, so gave up.

I joined for 3 years..... π I did mention to their heirachy obviously an old 80s P range Vespa isn't worth saving because it will never be worth as much as an SS180 or a GS160, i don't mind purists really but those lot are way too much.

landed at manchester airport at 10.40am, picked up my car from the car park, where I had previously placed my P200e engine, hotfooted it up to Denton, dropped said engine off at Mike Phoenix scooter shop, discussed man citys latest victories with mike, before returning home, doing the washing, replacing the security light at the front of the house, and then picking up my daughter from school, taking her to ballet lessons, and then loggin on to scooter websites to discuss what i have mostly been doing all day......

Today I've mostly... Been feeling like sh*t, was up at my mate Jon's yesterday from 4pm till 12.30 this morning, as he was told at about 3.30 pm ,his cancer is terminal. The drive home was the icing on the cake, 3miles on a B road in a blizzard.
May not be on as much for a wee while, not sure, too gutted to think at the moment.
Not asking for sympathy, just sayin'
Ride safe.

mushroom, thanks a million for the kind words, sorry to hear about your losses too. Today we've been trying to get him to think as positively as possible ( not easy I know), said if he makes a bucket list I'd do my utmost to help him tick as many off as possible, also told him If his 19 year old Son that stays with him can't manage at any point, I'll go and stay with him if he wishes. Years streaming down my face as I write this.

Hey Mij We are only here for a limited time so it is important to make that time fun/enjoyable, or else what is the point. It doesn`t matter what your version of fun/enjoyment is, it could be sinking pints of lager or charity work, or riding a vintage scooter to wherever, as long as we enjoy it, and hopefully have a laugh, so the bucket list idea is a great one. I`m over in Glasgow so if there is anything I can do for you let me know. All the best mate Ian

Mij, I am thinking of you mate, for what it's worth. I've lost family members to this dreadful disease and my best best mate to a brain tumour some 8 years ago but I still shed a tear for him now and again. I still raise a glass to him on his birthday too. Try and remember all the good times and don't let the bad times win. Good on you for being there for his family, god bless ya.

Ianmartin40 and kipper, thank you for the kind words, thoughts and offers of help. It's early days yet and first things he mentioned was getting his scoot m.o.ted, all the new stuff he's been buying over the last few months, Sip stainless floor plates ( anyone know if you have to remove the original floor runners on a LML 125 2stroke,to fit, the sip floor plates are allegedly LML specific as sold by SIP)?, Pm adjustable levers and more shiny stuff. He also mentioned going clay pigeon shooting, so will find out the details at our local/ish shooting place. Jim.

Best wishes to you and yours.

Jim, I've still got another one. It's a 1960 VNB1T, currently in bits in my shed. Italian tax disc says 1971 on it Just need a special tool to take the rear hub bearing out but it's at the bottom of my to-do list according to the misssus I'm currently blasting about on my FZX750 as I've ironed out all it's problems. Can't beat the adrenaline rush as you open the throttle
