the "perfect" one is my fave , the next one i'm building an only exists in my head so far .soon as ive finished re-doing my mates lamb-chop its going to start .a pk xl2 frame ,et4 forks an a liquid cooled quattrini 144cc motor ,the saga "mobility" scooter/mid-life crisis mobile. my everyday fave isnt in the picture ,as its not mot-ed an is on the naughty step (front garden) with a snatching clutch ,my 152cc super/polini t5 motor .H

If the powers that be put a ban on 2 strokes we are all in a bit of bother! I do love the line " the next one i'm building an only exists in my head so far " Always good to keep your mind busy with some sort of project.

No ban will ever happen, they will only stop building them and possibly try to ban parts, but it'll never happen. Old 2 stroke is here to stay.... π

Hi Ironsloth I hope you are right but i have concerns that my political correct government want all Scottish cities to be "ultra low emission zones" as it is the dirty air gives all Scottish people poor health apparently, certainly not their lifestyle!

Today I have mostly been buying a motorbike After trawling all the usual sites for a tidy Yamaha FZX750 ( baby V-Max )for the last 4 weeks I was left with buying a minter for Β£1800 ( 500 mile roundtrip )or a scruffier one for Β£1290 ( near Belfast, collection would be hassle) Looked on Shpock and found one just outside London for Β£600 with no MOT. gave him a ring and he said it wasn't running either. Went and had a look, he'd got it running by the time I got there. Offered him Β£520 and we left with it. Needs a bit of a tidy and clean fuel but I'm a happy bunny IMG_20170930_154412 by Dave Gale, on Flickr

Today I have mostly been on a 15mile round trip to my mate's,to do a compression test on his PX200e and give him my drum of Ht lead, so he can cut a length or 2 for his GP200, also picking up a Rega planar 3 turntable, that he sold me for a VERY reasonable price.ππ

Today I have mostly been..... Figuring out how heavy Florida bars really are... How the hell does a scoot propel itself forward with those flaming things on?? I don't understand, how to make a slow thing slower, step 1:- Florida bars, step 2:- shaving mirrors, step 3:- mod lights, no wonder almost every scoot is kitted in one way or another! I just don't get it I guess... To start the rant properly, I found an ironing board backrest for Β£30 posted, came with free Florida bars, which I believe are complete. I'm still in shock to be honest, that I got them so cheap...

Well if they are as heavy as you say,,what was the postage And We didn't get a Vespa for speed,if that's what I wanted I'd have kept the r6 Bikes are so much easier to make faster,(2 sprockets and cut the chain),why would you want a Vespa It's all about style.not speed (as you know) anyway you can always sell them on,,just remember to charge p&p lol

Scooterg, that included postage! Parts Β£20, postage a tenner π just cannot believe how heavy the shiny sh*te is. I've been scootering for over 10 years now (commuting machine, only transport really) and I've never been bothered about speed only reliability, which is why I kitted mine. I am just amazed at people piling this stuff on any scooter, and it will continue to amaze me. π³π

For my mate's and I, it is about style WITH speed, that's why we've spent so much time and money on tuning over the years, from the early 80' till now, the hunger to have or make an Italian shopping bike go faster has never been/will be satisfied π and it's the same for thousands of our fellow scooterists across the world. The funny thing is, a lot of us have/ have had motorcycles too, but it's just not the same.
Ride safe. MijβΊ

I've had a go on motorbikes, but their gear change is weird.... π nah to be honest, only a scoot ever feels right. Anyway, recently I've had a bit of a result, my mate has offered me the use of his shed to start one of the projects off! I'm waiting for the council to approve my garage, until then, all 3 of my sheds are full of Vespa/Anglia parts..... Can't even stand in the dry now! To be fair, I did have a word with another mate of mine to get his Wolseley sorted.... ππwho knows, my 11 year project may actually be finished!! π

Ooh love an Anglia. Years ago a guy locally had one. capri front struts, 1600 Lotus twin cam engine, sierra 5 speed box, full roll cage, lotus cortina gauges and painted the lotus white with a green stripe. It looked factory bulit. He used to do the Brighton Speed Trials in it and it was quicker than his mate's Mk 2 Savage 3000E Cortina Havent seen it for years

Deauville- Honda are well known for good build quality so probably a decent piece of kit, another unusual idea for Honda was the VFR 800 automatic, it never caught on with UK bikers so often re-sale prices are low but it does make sense for relaxed touring and the VFR is also capable of blasting along at a quick pace. (that will keep Mij searching for an hour or two and keep his mind off his aches)

Today, (well last night) I have been pushing a bloody heavy bike a mile in the dark because the poxy alternator and battery don't work. Set off to get petrol OK then pop fart, turn the lights off and it smooths out. Get petrol then click click dead Bumpstart it and run with sidelights on until it starts missing again and coast to a stop. Got the battery tested at local bike place and it's knackered and not holding a charge Buy new motobatt one, Β£56! Get home and start up everything ok. Get multimeter out and it's barely making 12.9 volts at 5000 rpm ( It's supposed to be between 13 and 15) Check the alternator over and the stator has gone. Luckily the FZX group on facebook seems to have spares I was kicking the thing last night and wishing I had my Vespa Never broken down on one yet

Ideal for the time I got my mate to buy something on my behalf for Β£80 and then him ring me and 'ask' if I wanted some stuff that a guy from his scooter club was selling for Β£20. All that just to keep the peace. ;-)

rule of tenths boys ,when chatting in earshot of management all prices are discussed divided by ten . Β£100 becomes a tenner ,everybody knows what it really is apart from "managers" .simples . but you do end up living in fear tho, i mean what if when i kark-it she sells all my crap for what i said i paid for it ,the horror of it .all my "mates" queuing round the block so they cant get there grubby mits on my "treasures/precious" at bargain basement prices ,i lie awake at nights sweating an shivering at the thought .an i bet the little bar-stewards will try n chat the management up aswell, its why i try an not make enemy's ,with mates like mine ive no need for em. any way, today i have mostly been eating soup an gargling vile concoctions the managements been brewing up ,tonsillitis has struck ,leaving me struggling to get a split pin out an totally defeated by her cosa's rear hub nut .i think a trip to "church" for a medicinal "prayer" is on the cards ,get me some fiery "holy spirit" in a glass bible an gargle that .H

Henri, funny you should say that, I've told the wife, when I'm brown bread, a few named closest mates get anything they want, either one big thing or a few smaller things, in return, they know they have to help my Mrs and grown up kids aged 27 and 30 to price and help sell what's left, My family know to check prices on faceache, magazines, eBay etc lol.
