just short of 300 mile since my engine rebuild when i started hearing a noise, thought it might of been the flywheel cover vibrating but i removed it and its still there, any ideas? im no expert but i think it could be a bearing, if it is i will be gutted, here is a short video.
Doesnt sound like a bearing but hard to tell. Could be something stuck under or in the flywheel?

Cheers guru, i will remove fly wheel and have a look, at first it sounded like a vibration then turned to a whistle, made a longer video when i heard it but im having bother uploading it.
weird whistle , i'd of thought made by air rushing past a edge an causing vibration . you removed cover an it was still there .actually on about the 4-5th listen sounds more screechy than whistle to me . rubbing fly , or if all looks good there loosened/rubbing clutch , at a loss not being to be there an walk round scoot n try n pin it down closer to where . if its got wheels n makes a noise I wanna play with it, skateboards included coz "skate-punks rule",
Removed flywheel and there is some marks on the back
noticed when i was rebuilding my stator dont really sit flush, it sticks out a few mm, not sure if this is correct or not, took a picture but you cant really tell from photo
yeah ianmartin40 said that but i think the scores are above it, its almost 300 mile since rebuild, would think i would have had a noise right away, looks like the rubbing is minimal, a baw hair would be a good phrase.
i'd replace the cap-head allen bolts for starters and fit the correct screws then check the casing studs are fully screwed in a simple test to see whats rubbing get a blue sharpie/marker and colour your flywheel where its rubbing and turn by hand remove fly wheel and look for colour transfer on other components in the stator area
i'd replace the cap-head allen bolts for starters and fit the correct screws then check the casing studs are fully screwed in a simple test to see whats rubbing get a sharpie/marker pen black or blue and colour the ends of the studs or anything else that seems to protrude then re-fit your flywheel and turn by hand where the sharpie/marker pen marks are missing there lies an issue
i use cap head allen screws rather than the cross head screws , but my moneys on one of the allen heads rubbing ,to me they look at just the right distance from centre . H

Put new fixing kit on for stator, also new washer and nut for flywheel, marked all the inside with ink marker, noise still there and there is no signs of any rubbing behind the flywheel, also tried another flywheel. Checked cables, exhaust, carb box and anything else for vibrations or rubbing, i will try to upload another video.
no no at least continue with the run in procedure as planned Clutch easy to check so worth a quick look, even if you drop gear oil, back wheel off and remove clutch cover wont take long
your noise seems to come and go at certain revs/vibrations try get the revs to where the noise is and look all over for some thing vibrating like stand spring , loose body work , exhaust things like that don't think i'm taking the p*sh but get a long screwdriver touch the engine and put you ear to the screw driver = stethoscope old school mechanics trick
Does the noise change if you pull in the clutch? If the clutch is loose the noise could go either way.

as guru said ,if noise dont change an clutch doesnt go out of adjustment chances are its elsewhere . nope but ya hold screwie handle in palm an put ear to back of hand .no joke ,hand filters out the background noise a bit then .i got bought 1 of them solid probe stethascopes as screwdriver listening to big diesels made me half deaf .still use a screwie mostly ,with all the crap spoken i prefer to only hear half ,an gives me a excuse to not hear people sayin its my round . if ya still dont believe shipscat n me watch "Das Boat" you can see the engineer doing it on that ,a big diesel on songs like a sweet lullaby .H

im joking about the tinfoil btw just had a look at the clutch, laid the scoot on its side(forgot to turn petrol tap off) pulled clutch cover of and centre nut was well tight, when i put it back together it wouldnt start, must be flooded and its too late to be throttling a scooter out back, i will have another go tomorrow, thanks for the input everyone.
the noise is gone, was out and did 10-15 mile and everything is fine, i cant be sure what was causing the noise but i had made extensions for my spare wheel because they are tubeless and one of them had snapped, could have sworn it was coming from flywheel at first, only good thing to come out of it is the flywheel i bought from ebay fits and works.
