Hi Start scooter then disconnect battery and put a multimeter accross the wires to see whats coming through. Post reply as to what you find and i may be able to help although being honest sounds like a wiring fault to me. try tracing wiring and check for breaks.
Cheers Dave

Hi Now at a guess I presume your P2 is a 12V system in which case your old regulator is working fine , the new one must be faulty . Even with a 6v system your new one would stuggle. I think you may have had a knackered battery first time around and a new knackered regulator second go. Put old regulator onto new battery then it should be OK. If still goes flat then you have a draw on the scooter and not a charging fault.Let me know what happens finding a current draw can be difficult so try charging battery running scoot for the day then disconnect battery and leave for a couple of days if when reconnected battery is fine then you a current draw on the scooter.
Good luck Dave

hi dave, this getting stranger by the day, battery,s fine mate had it checked, few things a have noticed today working on it (in p*ssing rain) starter relay wire,s were swopped round ie red for black & pink for green (would it make a difference? ) and fuse fitted 7.5 instead of 8 (again would it make a difference) what output should i have from regulator? im guessing thet 6 or 7 volts into a 12 volt battery aint right??? thanks for reply (dont leave it 2 days this time LOL) again many thank,s.....graham.

Hi Graham Sorry for not replying earlier f=8k++g work gets in the way.The starter relay wires wouldn,t make any odds as the engine is not charging until its running so the starter circuit is seperate. Your regulator should regulate the voltage in from the stator so as you dont cook the battery. Find out what going into the regulator, Put your multimeter so that the circuit is running through it ie one wire to wire coming from stator and the other to the regulator. with the scooter running you should get a least 12v depending on revs. If not you could have a faulty stator. I will try to finds some more info whats year is scoot so i can look up wiring diagram.

Hi Graham
Yes got your email, you must have either the wrong rectifier or a f**ked one, have you run scoot recently to see if battery still goes flat like I said disconnecting it after a run and leaving for a few days then reconnect to see if flat.. If it does i reckon you have a draw somewhere on the loom. Try what i said and let me know what happens.
Dave PS i have checked diagram and nothing seem obvious.

hi dave, SORTED spent last week fannying about with electrics, noticed on thursday morning starter was warm when left overnight (so it was a draw on the battery) changed bottom half of starter.....starts 1st push of button every time now and so far holding charge....many thank,s....graham
