Having fitted it yesterday, I can say for certain it's bloody impractical!!! Not looking forward to changing a wheel in future... Vespasco - what is a green turtle? (£5 on hold...)

Cheers Willow - not upjetted yet, haven't actually ridden it since I changed over. It's replaced a sito+; will I definitely need to upjet do you think?

Yes! I can only guess at trying another 2 sizes higher to start

And (please forgive my ignorance) is it safe to ride it as it is - just for 20 minutes or so to get it over to the place where the new jets are (hopefully)

Revolver or sterling a perfect for the Dr180 kit as long as you up jet there is no need to go above a 20/20 carb if your thinking of it unless your into wasting fuel for no gain as to go above for any gain you need to be going down the road of crank clutch porting route.then you find it was cheeper and a dam sight more reliable to get a 200 engine for the gain you get

That's the exhaust I have on my scoot got no idea what it is but it's pretty decent and I have a leovinci that I used to have on it but apparently doesn't work well with my kit so it's just sat in the shed

Hi I'm sorting my mates px125 exaust for him, so I know nowt about vespa. Could anybody tell me? Do all standard px exhausts share the same mounting bracket? Or for want of a better explanation if I buy a standard px125 off ebay is it likely to fit? Thanks in advance Pat

Pat, short answer is yes, it will fit. There are variants out there that offer a bit of extra power but are basically the same shape and style as the standard exhaust and will also fit. Would need to go up at least a size or two on the main jet if he went for one of them

from the box exhaust state of the art view in 2018:
original exhaust, just a sound absorber doesnt matter. if "piaggio" or sito
box slightly 2stroke exhaust: original engines and pnp tuning polini box is currentlx the very best
same power as the good old talian cans: polini, leovince, simonini, pinasco but understatement optic (and less danger to rack)
BIGbox true 2stroke exhausts even tough they still look kindof original real tuning needed!! cyl and intake timings as well as exhaustport width and shape
ie on pnp tunung a normal box will work better.
BIGboxes are true expansion chamber exhausts like the old standard ece: rz right, sip, jl, scorpion
the bgm.bbS hits exactly the same power curve as the currsnt sip performance v2 35bhp easy possible, just with a bigbox
sounds unreal doesnt it! check. my. fb page for some examples that bb are ece.
it will even get worse, september a new generation bigbox is Annonced, with. even. more power than the bbs. i am already scared...
regarding big expansion chamber exhausts: instead of the old clasics u can use big boxes, if u dont mind the missing optical aspect
of course the best ones are the big ece nordspeed, pipedesign, s&s and many more but they are out of my league
till 30 and even 35bhb, big boxes do the job. for. more. power i refer to real motorbikes.
cheers!

Hi guys Total newbie so please be gentle! I’ve just bought my first Vespa 🛵 a 1984 px125 with a 166 mallossi kit on it, I want to put a revolver exhaust and get rid of my standard exhaust, my question is will the revolver fit? Or is the scooter too underpowered? Thanks in advance

Have you considered a SIP road 2? these are highly rated despite looking standard-ish they provide lots of low down torque.

To be honest I really like the stainless look of the revolver, gives me something to polish lol

The nut should be a captive nut on a Sito... That said, a Sito is only a T5 exhaust anyway! Mind you, I always freed the captive nut on any exhaust with a bit of screwdriver leverage. Then remove the rear shock lower bolt, knock the shock out, this tips the engine to give better access. Stick a bit of grease into the jaws of the spanner that holds the nut, slide the bolt through (DO NOT FORGET TO GREASE THIS OR IT WILL NOT COME OUT NEXT TIME!), offer up the nut and gently try to get the screw to bite. If you're struggling, it's possible to locate the nut on the screw by finding a screwdriver that fits into the nut and holding it steady that way until the screw bites. FMovies YesMovies SolarMovieWe've had a few like that...usually scooter insurance, and licences.

sorry to be the Devils Advocate. I had a SIP road 2 on a lightly tuned 2012 PX125E It's great. The carb has a 98 Main jet and No:9 throttle slide. I noticed the other day the exhaust looked like it had been left on the sea bed for years. I removed it to clean and repaint it. I fitted a SIP road XL and had to up the main jet to a 99. I'm sure it's better. I know everyone's advice is to the contrary. I'm off to have it Dyno'd in a couple of weeks so lets see. There again is it possible my road 2 was a duff one?

Right Cards on the table. last week I tried yet another exhaust. A PM Tuning, PM Evolution 24. it's more peaky than the SIP exhaust. I have a long steep hill I love to thrash down. With the SIP Road " I would get 69 MPH. the engine would sort of die, I would roll off the throttle slightly and the engine would pick up. I tried re jetting but the problem never went away completely. I wanted to see the magic 70 on the speedo.
With the PM Expansion pipe I went down that hill and saw 74 MPH. It's not often I want to kiss a Welder. X X I'm off to the Dyno man in Essex next Friday.

But what's it like going up the hill with the PM on? I found them poor for torque, especially compared to a box exhaust like the SIP or BGM. It's a PIA constantly changing between 3rd and 4th.

Hello Shaunbond. the Dyno showed 10.23 bhp and 8.67 Ft/lb. funny thing is He recommends I down jet it one size to a 98. The ignition is holding it back even though I have a Zeus ignition module. I have to go through the gears much more often. The power is really peaky compared to the box exhaust.

Does anyone have any experiance with the new px125's? i pick mine up next week and was mulling over wether to ask them replace the standard exhaust to improve performance. The guy in the shop said its not necessary as the performance is pretty decent anyway, but im worried ill notice a big difference from my last vespa which was a t5 classic i had new back in 1999ish.
