MOD SEASON -A season of 60s/youth culture films which complements The Mod Crop Exhibition, running at Newark Millgate Museum from 6 March to 20 April, and Mod Crop – The Musical, a musical drama based on Brummell’s Last Riff, which premieres at Nottingham’s Theatre Royal on 9 June
Set in Newark in 1965, Brummell’s Last Riff is the first book of The Mod Crop Trilogy, written by Alan Fletcher. A native of Newark, Alan is obsessed with the 60s Mods and was a story consultant on The Who’s film Quadrophenia. He will be introducing a special screening of the film to kick start our Mod season, talking about his input to the story line, drawn from his own and friends’ experiences as Mods out on the streets of England in the mid 60s. Look out for scooters and other Mod memorabilia on display at the screenings!
Monday 16 March : QUADROPHENIA (18)
Monday 6 April : THE KNACK (15)
Monday 20 April : UP THE JUNCTION (12)
Monday 27 April : BLOW UP (15)

Wouldn't mind seeing the Mod Crop Musical. Would love to have seen the Ogden Nut Gone Flakes show the Small Fakers did too.
