Just got hold of a cover album of 'Ok Computer' by Radiohead ... is a reggae version done by loads of different artists, is christened 'Radiodread' ... clever that. Is brilliant all the way through, Toots and The Maytals cover of 'Let Down' is the best thing I've heard in a long time. There is also one of Pink Floyd's 'Dark Side Of The Moon' ...'Dub Side Of The Moon' ... will shortly be getting my mitts on that I reckon. This dub stuff is cool, thanks

Fitted my SIP speedo and am very pleased with it, on a 2002 MY Px all attributes seem to work spot on. My only fitting tip I haven't seen elsewhere on the web is that the power box I put under the headlamp which made it easier to refit the headset cover. What's a power box?

They are vented on 'sealed' systems. .... The area above the reservoir retractable rubber seal is vented, to avoid vacuum (when fluid level drops), but the system's brake fluid below this rubber does not come in contact with outside air. There is some trapped air in the reservoir but that's about it...

GTS is a very nice scooter, from a short ride on it- its very fast , quiet....and shock absorbing reminded me a french car (good that is)...
Regarding brake fluid, why top it off? its a closed system and unless you've drained/changed the fluid (or you got a leak), no topping is necessary even if it seems low...

Cheers Chaps, Its a PX 125 not kitted and a low mileage the weather sunday was hot and sunny and its due a service so ill go steady until it goes in for a service and get it checked out then. Many Thanks. hi im curious, is the auto lube working? cause frankly ive been hearing a lot about vespa engines seizing, but ive been riding vespas for quite a long time and never had any hint of a seize even in hot weather and high speed (35 celcius) always used pre-mixed fuel, so i have a suspicion all these seizes are due to the auto lube not pumping oil properly... regarding benefits of a seize, there are none... only scared cylinder, piston and rings...

Vespa started acting up at throttle opened too, so I decided to open the carb found lots of particles and things...no wonder i had leaks and all these idle problems.. that were to come and go every now and then (thats why i didnt do it sooner, always thought- ah its fine now...) I think I will fit a filter sometime soon...

thanx yeah, most likely its the idle jet...
what about a paper fuel filter, will that cause any flow problems?

Thanks, but I dont think it's points...cause it runs super fine from every above-the-idle rpm anyway the problem just went away the other day... I have no idea what is going on ....

hey there good fellas, my sprint doesnt hold idle...but runs great besides that (80 kph easy) doesn't seem to be the idle screw, cause turning it clock wise, doesn't make a difference Don't think it has to do with the mixture screw either
I suspect low compression.... (but then, engine only has 7000 km on it since overhaul)
i still havent really checked it out, but until then, any ideas?
thanks.

Doesnt sound like the cush drive but rather sth to do with the clutch disengagement .

sounds like a waste of money... even on a modified engine better to invest on the upper engine

There is a spray paint in a can especially for rims. Its way better than the ordinary spray paints and has a nice finish and its very resistant to fuel etc. I used it on my fuel tank.

Hi, Before you use filler, you should of course remove rust, if its not deep you can use liquid rust remover or just use a sander. Before applying filler, be sure to get rid of all rust. Afterwards, use a good automotive primer paint for your base.

Well, you have to do it with the carb removed from the engine. The cleaner comes in spray cans. Its very strong material so watch your eyes and avoid skin contact.
You would just have to open the float bowl, remove needle and float. Clean the needle house, then spray the area with carb cleaner.

If the needle is new and the float is good, then maybe its worth to clean the needle house (where the needle goes in). there can be a tiny thing stuck on it, enough to allow fuel to enter pass the needle.
What Ive done is take an ear bud with a little rubbing compound on it, put it on a cordless drill. A few seconds of cleaning will do. If you use rubbing compound, make sure to clean the carb thoroughly.

Hey guys, Can I switch the rear shock between my scooters? The PX, which I hardly ride, has a nice rear Bitubo which is a waste not to use . Is it the same length as the sprint's regular shock? cheers.

Hi, needless to say, you first need to drain the fuel tank, and refuel a fresh tank. Then you can try putting a few drops of fuel right in the carb barrel, try to start the engine. If it does start, open the throttle until engine revs high, then close it right away , then immediately open and vise versa. This can generate vacuum, enough to unclog the carb sometimes, saving you the trouble of carb cleaning. If it doesn't help, as Briano Robjack said, you'll need to clean the carb.

Any removal of restriction should do it good, even removing dead bugs from the plastic If it didn't make a difference , restriction wouldn't be there...
