The air leak is what caused the hole in your piston . It sounds like your mechanic fitted a new piston etc., without rectifying what caused the problem in the first place.

Check out the GTS Owners Club website. The favourite exhaust at the moment seems to be the LeoVinci, followed by the Gianelli, PM or Scorpion.

That scooter grew from 50cc to 125cc in the same article. Also, I thought 'mopeds' had pedals ??

I think Skrappey may be referring to Mike Soffe at MS Scooters. I have a mobile number if you need it, or you can order your parts off Barry Turner from Scooter Warehouse.

Try Newton Motors, South St., Dingle, Liverpool 8. They are engine re-conditioners, and are well used to doing motorcycle and scooter stuff. In fact, they used to rebore cylinders for the legendary Terry Shepherd of TS1 fame. The phone number is 0151-727-5050 or 0151-727-2609. Any problems, let me know. Cheers, Geoff.

Number plates were part of the m.o.t test, but were withdrawn until certain points have been clarified, then they will be re-introduced. Any illegal or mis-spaced plates will then fail the m.o.t. A number plate must have the details of who made it on the pate, along with a BSAU number. I know of a girl who has been stopped twice with her mis-spaced plate, and has been given a £30 fixed penalty fine on each occasion. If you have an illegal plate, it's an invitation to the Police to stop you, and they can then give you and your scoot a good going over.

The LML is a decent scooter, but somewhat underpowered due to the restrictions placed on it in order to comply with the Euro emissions regulations. There was an article in ' Scootering ' recently about removing these, and what yoy had to do to uprate the engine power again

He was actually riding a Vespa GTV at the time, and the guy driving the car 'just did'nt see him' despite the fact that he had his dipped headlight on (compulsory in Italy).

Does'nt the Shed of Shame meet on a Wednesday clash with the Cloud 9 meet at the Old Colonial ? or am I getting involved with some politics here ?. Reason I ask, is because I occasionally come over to the Cloud 9 night if I can't make the Liverpool night on a Thursday due to shift work.

A class A or B write off cannot be reurned to the road. A class C can. For example, a scoot worth £500 is repairable, but will cost £600 to repair. The insuarance company will write it off as un-economical to repair. If it is repaired, it may need to be inspected before it is allowed back on the road ( not an M.O.T test ), at a centre which inspects kit cars etc.

I agree Ste, the GTS is a different experience to riding a trad scooter. My Lammy is not m.o.t'd at the moment, so I'm using the GTS a lot more. Following the lads home from the club, you can smell the two stroke and I'm jealous, but I too would never part with the GTS.

Saw that clip on the LCGB website Mike, it's really cool. I've just fitted one of those kits on my Lammy to make the back wheel spin like that one ( not !!!)

Vespa GTS is similar to other scoots to insure, tax is £33. Costs £6 to fill petrol tank, and that will last you from now til New Year !

I used to be a fan of Massey Fergusons, but I've gone off them now. I suppose you could say that I'm an ex-tractor fan ! ---- the old ones are always the best eh ?

You have a few clubs to choose from in your area, but you will always be made welcome at Liverpool Scooter Club if you wish to visit. It's at the Queen's pub ( officially called Goose at the Queens ), Derby Square by Queen Victoria monument and the crown courts, every Thursday night from about half 8 / 9ish. Hope to see you there !

For some reason, I'm not getting the pictures. Is it something I'm missing off my computer ? It's running on Windows Vista.

Hi everybodyfrom a new member. Got recommended to this site, and it's great. Also like the fact that it's based locally, as I'm from Liverpool scooter club. To all our continental friends, thanks for fantastic recent Euro Lambretta's at Germany and Austria - well done !

Yeah, I agree. Dave gave a brilliant speech at Euro-Lambretta about scootering in Northern Ireland that really impressed me, so I went up and introduced myself to him later. He told me that anyone was welcome in his club regardless of their " persuasions ". Maybe the spirit of scootering could help make the world a better place.
