Just thought I'd pop my head in a say hello. This is a not very good pic of me(the missus had just given me a black eye ;D) and one of my piles of sh*te projects.

I'd use early PK 80/100/125 forks personally, far easier to chose a headset you want rather than a T5 or Cosa. ;D
I'd also use the Polini, far more flexable.Personally,I find the Malossi a pain in the arse.

I very much doubt you'll need a new carb.Strip it right back, soak in petrol overnight and then clear all jets with air.Rebuild with a new gasket set.

It'll be a Sito+,decent for a while but the innards b*ll*cks up in no time.
You can't fit a P2 or PX system,SIP do sell genuine pipes and I presume they're available elsewhere.

Easy enough.
Make sure you use plenty of grease on re-assembly as Luigi uses bugger all when he throw's them together builds them.

Quite fancy getting a 50 again and doing the max moped thing for a laugh.Polini 50,reed valve etc.Oz,you listening? ;D Yeah,I won that on e-bay the other week to add to my sh*te pile store for future use. However,if someone has a greater or more immanant need I'd part with it for cost. Most cheap spannies will need doing away with the spare wheel on a PK.If you don't want to do this you'll need something like these.

Just checking. ;D Yeah, this'll be it no doubt. Not a bad kit,I used to run them 20 years ago. They kept blowing up though as we just slapped them on and shoved in a bigger main.Revved the tits off them all the time.Poor little buggers. ;D Quite fancy getting a 50 again and doing the max moped thing for a laugh.Polini 50,reed valve etc.Oz,you listening?

A few points.
As far as I'm aware PK flywheel covers are generic although not having owned an ES model I'll happily stand corrected.
Do as your engineer tells you and match the tranfers, all kits need this doing to maxamise their potential and run properly.Don't worry about opening them up as if going back to a standard barrel this will cover up the opened ports anyway.
I would fit a cheap sports pipe such as a Polini or a Leo Vinci with this.If you're intrested I have a brand new NOS Shaft expansion I'd sell for £20 +p&p.
Your differing performance could be a few things.I doubt a kitted 50 on standard gearing would reach 40mph in 3rd at anytime.I'm assuming it's a 4 speed 'box?
