I just checked "Search" again Devo, and it's not there, but I thought it was unlikely that someone would miss it. Never mind, what about Freight Loader - Eric Clapton and the Immediate All Stars?

Spence, is it OK if I play catch up (without ripping the back out of it) seeing as I've been in hospital? I've logged off since my last entry. Train to Skaville - The Ethiopians. I checked on "Search" - honest, and now I'm going to log off again, and come back after lunch.

I've got to agree with Mark. Duffy has a great voice, but the song is a pop song. Still it's better than Leona bleedin' Lewis! They are still playing bleedin' Bleeding Love on BFBS, sometimes twice a day, and the Germans play it on WDR2 as well! I've also got agree with Spence. The vid is sensational. Do they still play Tick with hatchets in Rock Ferry?

Oops! The trouble is, I've been doing this at work, and I can't get youtube there. However, there is a Crown Odourfree Paint advert which I saw whilst watching ER last night which uses Heatwave by Martha and The Vandellas. No vocals, just music!

Spence, Absolutely fantastic! REAL vocals! I've come over all funny seeing that clip. I looked everywhere for a shirt like that (only joking). ;D ;D ;D Whatever happened to Dobie Gray? Does anybody know? I kept you up to watch OGWT all the time (and Monty Python) for essential educational reasons.

My thinking behind a classic tune is that it should make you sing out loud and/or dance, wherever you are or whatever you're doing, or provoke a severe burst of emotion, or remind you of a significant moment or time in your life. So, here's ten more, in no particular order, that nearly made it; 1. Drift Away - Dobie Gray 2. I Predict A Riot - Kayser Chiefs 3. I Can't Explain - The Who 4. Sha La La Lee - The Small Faces 5. All Together Now - The Farm 6. Pressure Drop - Toots and the Maytals 7. Teenage Kicks - The Undertones 8. Sex Machine - James Brown 9. Smoke on the Water - Deep Purple 10. Universal Soldier - Donovan

Better late than never:
1. All or Nothing - Small Faces 2. Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow - Shirelles 3. Goin' Back - Dusty Springfield 4. Squeeze Box - The Who 5. White Rabbit - Jefferson Airplane 6. All Right Now - Free 7. Higher and Higher - Jackie Wilson 8. The Harder They Come - Jimmy Cliff 9. Girl - The Beatles 10. I've Been This Way Before - Jimmy Ruffin

Spot on with your comments about Elkie (Great though she is) and Armatrading. Full backing for Lulu, and deffo Beryl Marsden. I've seen her live, and she was miles better than Cilla. You must include Maggie Bell, from Stone The Crows. She did "No Mean City" the original Taggart theme.

What about Frankie Miller? He was described as the best white singer ever by none other than Otis Redding's wife. His version of Shoo Ra Shoo Ra is a real R & B classic.
