My son has a 1997 ET4 125 pre-leader which runs great, but will not charge. I have been investigating this and discovered that the immobiliser is part of the charging circuit! The immobilizer was by-passed when purchased and all ran well apart from the lights being rather dim. A workmate re-wired his lights to a direct feed and removed something, this must have caused the problem. a new wiring loom has been fitted and a new ignition switch, which has cured the issue with the lights. Can the charging circuit work without the immobiliser? or can it be wired when the immobiliser has been removed to work?
