Hi,
Is there any point in upgrading to SIP road 3? The current set up I have is a Pinasco 215 motor with a SIP road 2. It feels that the motor is constricted when i try to open her up.

yes, Vespa gear changes can be quite "clunky"

not hard to track down at all - they are available at beedspeed, VE spares, Scooter restorations, Scootopia, SIP etc etc for about £12

Have a look on ebay for similar spec. scooters and then act accordingly.

It really depends on how much money you want to spend?

Thanks for the replies. Will my forks be the 20mm type? Used good disc/fork assemblies seem scarce and/or expensive. I was going to get the individual parts as they became available and use my forks to mount them on. Think it was just the mk1 forks that were originally 16mm.

I upgraded to a disc set up on my P200e a few years ago. Bought an LML set of 20mm forks for about £200, which had the same looking hub as the original. no need to change the headset btm Fitted the hydraulic cylinder in my butty box, so it has retained the original looks but with better stopping power. Also upgraded to a Pinasco shocker as part of the job. Only minimal fettling was required in order to make the steering lock work.

How about a sheet of 1.5mm rubber cut to shape and siliconed in place?

Dont use E10 fuel if you can. Personally i would stick with the original rims if they are true and round, and get them blasted and powder coated in the colour of your choice. But dreaming of upgrades keeps us all busy doesnt it!

Do the minimum to get it back on the road and then take it from there.

Beedspeed offer a rebore service. However I cannot comment on the quality or reliability of their offering.

should not be a problem in re-using the existing studs & nuts. But, could be an opportunity to upgrade to stainless steel, titanium, or any other exotic material that claims to improve performance!

Castrol power 1 is a good quality 2 stoke oil 👍 +1 I also putoline, semi-synthetic in my scoots. I only ever use fully synthetic when running in a new engine or piston or rings.

A bit of T-cut, a new C90 mix tape and you should be fine!

Have a word with a panelbeater otherwise it’ll be like when Father Ted knocked a dent out of a brand new car….. 😆 +1, if you try it yourself you may cause more damage.

Try fitting a fast flow tap from SIP, or BGM, or any other reputable manufacturer!
