Thanks again vespasco, this is all starting to get too complicated for me. I'm thinking about keeping the 125 on there and tinkering around with that for practice. Considering I haven't ever tuned a scooter motor before it could be good to get used to the basics before jumping in at the deep end..

Ah ok nice one, I mean im just trying to build a motor that runs correctly and reliably but doesnt have to be tuned to the max, not this time anyway.
However what can I adjust on the engine when I have my port timing measurements to improve it?
Oh and also the kit didnt come with any head gaskets, sip do them from 0.5mm to 2mm but im guessing theres no rule to which one is 'best'. Is this a case of trial and error until you reach your ideal squish?
Thanks again appreciate the help

Cheers H, does that mean it's fine that the gear comes out when the screw is tight?

Vespasco what is packing the cylinder?
and the igntion is recommended at 'approx 19°btdc', all ignition components are standard, is this what you meant gazpx? will have to measure port timings in future
thanks for you help

lol In the description they are exactly the same but in the pictures they have different clutches.. £40 seems steep for that! Seems crazy that they can supply basically the same kit but for different prices
