bit concerned now with my Michelin S1 tyres just fitted as have realised that they are rated @ 62MPH and my scoot will sit cruising at 65mph think I may well have made a grave mistake here:(

hi Guys,
can anyone recommend a good and reasonably priced engine man/woman in the north east area as I am looking at getting my standard 200 set up properly to get the best out of it without tuning it to the hilt. engine is standard with sip road 2 exhaust and believe running a 118 main jet.
cheers in advance.

just fitted 2 Michelin S1's to mine have only done 1 mile and not sure if they are good or not as felt like I was going to fall off for the whole mile. maybe that is because the old tyres were like racing slicks when I took them off and the new ones just need a bit of wear first. the S1's came highly recommended!!

hi h,
I have been checking them all but it is probably the wrong time to be looking for scoots as some have been ridiculously priced for what I want it for, the search will however continue.

Hi Sime,
mine is an 84 EFL and the boys is an 02 plate so should be the same I believe. I could just get him to do it whilst I watch from a deckchair drinking beer, that will be my best option. swopping engines I have done before will be using sausage more for the stripping/rebuilding of his cracked engine which will end up in my new scoot once I have located one as a project, watching DJ loone's thread has inspired me to do a chop again!!

HAHA your right there Sime. the plan is this year to build a bit of a workshop (Mancave) in the back garden so work on the scoots can be done in comfort rather than waiting for the one nice summer day in the northeast to cram all the works into, then we can sit there together watching the sausage DVD (fnar fnar) to gather the knowledge to carry out engine rebuilds etc etc.

Hi Danny,
a brand new frame can be purchased from SIP but at quite a cost. I think it is better to look for a second hand scoot and buy that.

Well took her for a run last night and went along just dandy, that was until I stopped at traffic lights and she cut out. could I get her started? could I hell so push to the side of the road through heavy traffic and kept kicking until she fired into life!! any ideas chaps is it just a case of adjusting the tick over/ but I feel this will not solve the starting issue.

Not sure on the jetting or the mixture screw position as it was set up by the guys in the shop, who I should really take it back too but with work commitments I find it hard to get up to them so if I can go armed with info or even attempt it myself then time will be saved. the spark plug is brand new.

hi PXguru,
it absolutely flies!! gets to 60 in know time (confirmed by the wife who was following me) and sits there no problem and that was at only about 2/3rds throttle.
Hi h should hope that everything is tightened considering it only came out of the shop last week after full gasket seals etc replacement.

Hi all,
fitted new P200 engine I purchased from spain after a good strip down and started after 4-5 kicks. since then starts after 2-3 kicks but when I have been riding it for 30 mins or so it then becomes a right bugger to start needing atleast 20-30 kicks before she finally springs into life. it is a 2002 electric start engine which is not connected to the leccy start as mine is non electric, starter motor is still hanging off the side of the engine but not connected electrically. any ideas would be gratefully received.
