cheers nik,, its finding time to do that with this job of mine,, just been looking at clutches there is a 20 tooth a 21 tooth and a 22 tooth clutch for t5 and same again with the clutch drive cog, i know what slipping clutches feel like eg when the revs rise and the speed etc doesnt also when a clutch slips and u back off on the throttle u can feel it bite again my peugeot car was only slipping when it got warm and only at 70mph but once it was warm it would slip in the higher gears,, just a pain i suppose lol

hi pxguru i get what yor saying my friend , its not slipping though at all its just either downgeared on the clutch or its the wrong 4th gear in it,, it wants burning at midnight lol or throwing in the canal but i cant do that now ive paid to have it painted,,,, or can i

you had better leave yours in 2nd then nik ;D i cant take it anywhere at moment its in bits being painted lol if i can get weekend off work im going to get the engine and take the clutch off and buy another i seem to remember you saying the t5 has a cosa clutch but mine was the old type?

lol nik theres no chrome on it i took it all off , i can understand what u mean but its not weighing it down so it cant pull, if you imagine riding it flat out in lets say 2nd gear and keeping it flat out so it sounds like its gonna explode cose its revving to kingdom come thats what its like in 4th and as we discussed the clutch deffo isnt slipping without a doubt, i dunno what the max rpm on a t5 engine is but it must be easily maxed out at 50ish it must be a good engine not to blow up revving like that lol, flamin thing is pleading for mercy.

any ideas what the difference is between px and t5 clutches also px and t5 4th gear? my t5 engine seems to be seriously down geared it runs perfect and all the gears work fine but its too low geared and screaming its gonads off at 50mph i know the clutch isnt slipping at all so it can only be the gearing, im wondering what to try first ie clutch or buy another gearbox and swap that,, i want to sort it while the scooter is being painted and also if i wanted to rev the sack off sommat at 50mph id of bought a vespa moped lol any ideas apreciated,steve

hi the easiest way to treat the rust in my opinion is that pro gel also available as pro liquid treatment, you can buy it at decent motor factors also on e bay,, just rub the worst off with wet and dry fine grit paper and brush the rust treatment gel or liquid on the area,, then prime and touch up as required, hope this helps,, steve

just to follow up,, ben for a ride around cleethorpes and it seems great behavng perfect,, i think its run in enough for me to take it for a thrash on the 180 and do a plug chop in a lay by if needs be i can take te 110 main jet ut and put a 112 in and try that,, thank the lord it wasnt me crank seals regards for now,,,steve

right ,, morning everyone, just took carb off and stripped it down and cleaned it all etc etc, shouted and swore at it and gave it loads of verbal abuse,, put it all back on and fired it up,,, guess what it runs perfick without choke now ,, so either ive scared it sh*tless with all abuse i gave it or there must of been some crap in it hen i washed it in the bath ;D regards,,steve,, i shall report back in a bit when ive been for a ride down the sea front on it shortly,, toodle pip,

hi just topped up the gear oil and started it but no smoke as such from the exhaust?? ive removed the jets and even swapped the 112 main jet that i put in for the sito+ for the standard 110 jet but still the same,,steve

hi i was using my vespa last weekend and it ran fine, i have been away all week in the lorry and decided to go out on it today but it was a right swine to start and when it did start it will only run with the choke on,, if i turn the choke off it just cuts out unless i give it full throttle, if i set the idle screw so it ticks over fast and the take the choke off it seems like its starved of fuel i.e revving high as if its running out of fuel then just cuts out,, is this the seals? any help appreciated,, steve,, by the way its a t5 engine, regards .

evening everyone, does anyone have any ideas what may be causing my indicators to play up,, when the inicators are off the right hand rear stays lit but doesnt flash, when i put left indicators on all all four front and rear flash and when i put right ones on just the rear right lights but doesnt flash ,, many thanks for any help, regards,,steve

alright folks, sorry for forgetting to introduce myself, im steve from cleethorpes i have a shed i mean a old p125x with a t5 in it, the whole scoot is just shocking ive spent more on it than i would of paid for a good one, and its still a shed with no mot, hows that for stupidity i had sbw nik kindly put me a shiny new crank in it etc etc thanks nik its nice to know people will help when you need it,maybe some kind person will pimp my scoot??? heres hopng,, regards from steve

hi nik yes i did have the scooter layed on its side maybe it was that that caused it just been outside to try it and the was a strong smell of petrol when i pressed the kick start petrol was pouring out of the exhaust for a couple of mins so im not going to try and start it

cheers nik ive got the stand off and sito on but its very close to the underneath got nuts n bolts from stand all over the place also with the simo exhaust it was starting first kick but with the sito it took about 20 kicks to start it dunno why, its still hard to start now

hi everyone has anyone had a problem fitting these sito exhausts, ive just bought one from beedspeeds today and the only way it will fit is to remove the centre stand??? the spring on the stand stops the sito from lining up with the bolt hole on the casing,, wondering if i should take it back or not,, any advice appreciated, regards ,steve

hi everyone ive just bought a p125x with a t5 engine and it seems the crank is shot its had a couple of seizures before i bought it and it feels like swarf maybe from the mains or the bottom end bearing so does anyone have a engine for sale to fit my scoot or will a crank and mains etc be cheaper its my first vespa but had lammies 30 yrs ago, any help gladly recieved, thankyou,, steve, my email is steve.cleethorpes@ntlworld.com and mobile is 07512276383
