Here (O knowledgable one!) is what the guy I bought it from told me the other day... The engine is a 5 port lml star engine ( Qld built ) the same as a px150 engine. Early engines were only 2 or 3 port. Carby is a standard px150 carby. I believe its an asian exhaust. The exhaust looks like a copy of an early 90's simonini exhaust. Dunno if that changes anything in my favour with regards to doing something with it? Funny you say about that fuel problem, if you remember I posted one fairly recently about not being able to get the last 2 ltrs. I did as you said and cut the fuel pipe down abit. Could only manage 2.5 inches off to still allow me to get it back on again. But I did get abit more out of it though. I reckon maybe another 0.5 ltr. How much does Reserve allow approx? Sounds like you've had quite abit of experience with scooters in the past mate! Your advice is much appreciated. Thanks 😉

Knew I could rely on you for a straight up answer! Dunno if I could afford to do that much. Any ideas for a few tweaks on the 150 Super?

Evenin all. Scooter being a pain in the arse and not running the last couple of litres of petrol. Do you think it's a fuel tap problem?

Forgot to introduce myself, Im Jase, a Pom from Norwich but lives in Adelaide these days. Had abit of a mid-life crisis the other month and bought my Vespa. It's my first one, as when I was a second generation Mod back in the late 70's early 80's, I wasnt old enough to have a scooter back then. Anyway, better late than never. Already had some very helpful replies to a couple of problems, so cheers to those people. Hopefully I can learn some stuff from you lot! ;D Attachments:

Well that didn't last long! Me thinks it's the fuel tap. Cuts out after a minute or so with petrol on, runs ok on reserve. Another one to suss out.

I actually ordered Ox Eye handlebar indicators from SIP lastnight! Thanks anyway for posting that mate. I know bugger all about wiring and tools would probably end up thrown, so it's in everybody's best interests I get someone to fit them for me

I'm finding having no indicators abit of a pain. Wondered if anyone knows of anywhere that may sell a kit so it would be possible? Not something I'm overkeen on doing to be honest, but I might live abit longer if I can get them fitted. What do you blokes think?

All sorted people! Had tank out and drained fuel out, cleaned in fuel tap. Cleaned jets and float chamber filter and bowl. All back together and running a treat. Cheers for all replies, very helpful. :0)

That's interesting, the Super does have a race type exhaust. I shall definately add this to my list of suggested possibilities! Thanks for that 😉

Hi everyone, I'm new here and this is my first post and I'm hoping some of you may be able to throw some suggestions my way. I have a 1966 150 Super, and alls good except at top end in 4th. It loses power as though the fuel isnt getting through. If I change down it picks up again but can sometimes come to a complete stop. No problem kicking it back to life again, but as I get back up to 4th I'm faced with the same problem. Easing off the throttle helps, its just more at full throttle than anything. Now I'm not the most mechanically minded bloke in the world, so bear with me, I'll try my best with anything suggested. Hope some of you can shed some light on this and maybe get me upto speed again. Cheers
