As a precaution for any riders not having been to the Isle of Man before; Speed limit for 'L' plates is 50 mph; Speed limit for any trailers is 30 mph; We have many, strictly enforced, 20 mph areas, beware; When you see a 'national speed limit applies' sign you can go as fast as you can, but there are some nasty bends here, beware; We have no speed cameras here which means no standard speeding fine, it can be expensive if you are caught by a radar gun, we have loads of them; Drink driving is not tolerated here, Manxies love a fight, unfortunately the Deemsters (judges) do not, If you are riding over the mountain you could be overtake by a car or bike doing in excess of 100 mph, if you can't handle that, keep off the mountain. This is not meant to frightern anyone or put them off visiting this unique island of ours, it's just for information so you are all prepared for our little quirks of nature. Enjoy your visit and I'll see you in July. Cair vie.

Was last there in 2003, didn't know about that 20mph gubbins, but did get the impression i was on an island were it could kick off if you were in the wrong part of town. In fact it did kick off on the friday night in some club a few of the lads mistakingly went to. Be safe and follow the sounds of soul and you can't go wrong

Of course, now the f*king TT is finished and the bikes have, nearly, gone home, I can get my T5 out again. Bonus is that the bumpers are still in place waiting for the Manx GP in August so if you fall out of a pub into a lamppost you get a soft landing, bless the DOT. You will see loads of bumpers when you ride the TT course, which you must just to get a look at the stupidity of these greasers doing 190 mph round the roads, they are there to protect the trees and walls, not the riders particularly. I really hope the weather is good for us all.
