Today I discovered my rear brake light not working, but my front brake switch was working. Simples thinks I, it's the rear brake switch, (as usual). I stripped it out, it was in good nick. I still cleaned it up, refitted it, still no good. So I took the light cluster off. There I have a blue wire going to the 10W brake light, and a black earth, which goes via the rear light ( fed by a yellow/black) and then back into the loom. The rear light works no issues. So I assume 1) there is a good earth as both bulbs light, 2) The front and rear wires must join at some point? I expected to see two live wires going to the bulb, one from each of the brake switches? I have tried to find a wiring diagram, but the only one that has the same coloured wires as mine is attached, but that doesn't seem to have a front brake switch. If I find one with a switch, it has a different rear light set up, ie the stop/tail single bulb. So. Where the heck does the front switch join the circuit to actuate the brake light? Why can't I find a schematic with it on? Whassup with the bloody thing? The site won't let me attach a file, so here is where I got my wiring diagram from.....it is spot on colour-wise, but no front brake switch? www.scooterhelp.com/electrics/pages/VSX1T.px200.htmlBamboozled

Fixed.
It was simply the rear switch not contacting properly, but I must have had it in and out half a dozen times until it played ball. Odd....it looked fine, had cleaned up no issues, but just didn't seem to be able to always make a contact. Finally got there by the old 'take it apart and put it back together again' technique!
The blue from the front brake mates with the one from the back brake switch there, at the switch. As it is sheathed, I could only see one wire, hence my bamboozlement.
As for the wiring, still no joy with a diagram for my model. Weird.
