After getting my scoot back on the road my new fuel pipe must be a bit long as I'm getting starvation around wot. If I take my tank back out and rest it across the frame is it necessary to reach the carb from there or can I trim the pipe and leave just enough to grab hold of where it goes through the grommet?

Hello. The length of the pipe should be 600mm for premix and 650 for oil. injection. Before you cut bits off, check the flow into a measuring jug or bottle and a stopwatch. Then remove the tank filler cap and try again. (It could be that causing it). I’m not sure what the flow should be but Mr Freakmoped has a couple of youtube videos. He also advises using a hose with a wire spiral built in to avoid kinks.
to answer your question, I made the hose just long enough that I could get my arm in and push it through the grommet. And i used Needle nose pliers to pull it out.

Cheers, it's brand new hose so I'm hoping it hasn't kinked or taken a set. If it's become stiff already I'll get some of the spiral wire type.
