my sprint 69, which in the last 18 months has had a new barrel and piston, clutch, carb, petrol tap, electronic ignition, has now decided to go 100m and then dies .I manage to get back(just) if I put the choke on .Cleaned carb and filter and checked jets are clear and tried a bigger main jet. but still the same. Anyone have ideas it would be much appreciated.or a mechanic in N.london area (apart from retrospective scooters). Thanks anyone who replies.

Defo' lack of fuel. Check the flow to the carb then double clean the carb. Is it a misfire or just stopping as if you have turned it off. Keep us updated.

I have used www.vespaman.co.uk/ and he will come to you! Based in SW London but I think he travels all around London. Have you checked your fuel flow? Length of fuel tube might be too long

Two things spring to mind...
Blocked air intake under seat and blocked petrol tank cap breather.
Simple checks do worth a quick look.

Check all of the above before you try resetting.

I finally got round to look at it today and Ant vespa was correct (sorry no prize).Made to fuel pipe about 3 inches shorter which improved the flow .Now all good. Thanks everyone ,don't know what I'd do without this message board.Going to the zoo on Friday with my mate for our annual ride out I'm under a bit of pressure cause he has a lammy and would love it if I didn't make it there and back !Fingers crossed
