Hi
I was wondering if it's worth doing bits and pieces (squish, exhaust port etc) to a standard LML engine. I know the cranks are not known for their longevity but as long as I get a few months out of it... I wasn't planning on doing any big trips.
Anyone had any success?

You could try this 👇, if you go to this video on YouTube itself, you can read his description 😉
do you have an Lml Reed or rotary engine? Bud.
Some cheap used genuine Piaggio Vespa cranks come up on eBay and Facebook, well worth considering or if you have an Lml Reed engine, look for a good used full circle crank? R Mij☺

Hi
Yes, 150 reed engine. I've modified the reed valve with Boyesen 2-stage petals and removed the bridge piece.
I was thinking I'd skim the head to improve the squish, open up the exhaust port slightly and use a thick gasket to raise the ports, and fit a decent box exhaust.
I will replace the crank over the winter but I was hoping I could get a bit more performance for cheap without splitting the cases (we all know how it can drag on once you do that...).
I'm not planning on caning it up and down the country before I've rebuilt it with quality stuff!

Even if the LML cranks are not the best, a bit of DIY porting and tuning is not going to double the BHP so it should be fine for the season, hopefully!
