So I am the proud owner of a 2007 Vespa gts250, after storing it in my garage for the winter I went to charge the battery the other day with a smart, slow charger, I went to check on it this morning and it said that the battery was fully charged. As you can imagine I was excited as that meant that the first ride of the season was close, however when I went to disconnect the battery form the charger and turn the key the instrument panel didn't turn on at all, no lights nothing, and of course the bike wouldn't start. I didn't screw in the floor panel, are there sensors that stop the vespa from starting if the floor isn't in place or is it a battery problem, could I have fried the electrical of the vespa?

Hello. If you left the battery on the scooter it would have run down and the plates will have sulphited up. to prove it put a load on the battery like a light bulb for instance. sounds like it's by bye battery to me. next time you lay it up for more than 3 or 4 weeks disconnect one of the terminals, connect your smart charger to the battery and leave it on permanently.
