You don't necessarily need to buy a kit designed for a 60mm crank, if you do, it can cut down the tuning options you have, as the kit will be designed for top end or grunt or maybe half way between those and to alter that you'd have to possibly top or tail the barrel( remove material). IF however, you buy a kit for a 57mm crank and fit a 60 mm crank, you can more easily tune the barrel to your liking, by adding gaskets or spacers to the top or bottom of the cylinder or both till you find the state of tune you like or wish to try, these can be changed at any time, as they are not permanent. I agree with mista freak moped, that the alloy Polini barrel he looked at, is not worth the money, heard some of the BGM kits are unreliable, but maybe worth checking out the latest batch? With the alloy Malossi kit just out, unless you wish to take the risk of being an early adopter, I would wait a few months to see how reliable they are, also have no idea what the port timings of this kit would be but this is the kit I'm most excited about, of the ones you mentioned. Mij☺ I know you can stroke the any cylinder. I have done to my rd350.. Just the kits I mentioned would make it a bit easier..

I have been searching alot about cylinder kits. and looking at the links every one has sent me. I bought a vmc 177 cylinder kit what mista freakmoped has done videos of the kit on YouTube it looks good for the price. I can always go for a different kit if its not up to scratch. I'm going to use it with a 60mm Stroke. So next is to look for a crankshaft ill probably go for Mazzucchelli crankshaft. I'm not sure if a full circle crankshaft would work with a lml Reed valve. I have not found any one who has done it.

Mazzucchelli K2D 60mm crankshaft. I have not had a proper look yet but possible raise the head. Yeah the high flow fuel tap is on the list. Probably when I buy the a carburettor

Is the barrel kit you bought, intended for a 57mm crank?
These are worth considering too

Hello there. I got my Knickers in a twist reading through that lot. To answer your question if you fit a long stroke crank you have to fit a base gasket half the difference of the original stroke.
Now I’ve got your knix notted I mean if the old stroke crank is 57mm and the new 60mm that’s 3mm different. So you need a 1.5mm base gasket to keep the head away from the piston.

the 1.5 mm can go on the base of the cylinder OR the top of the cylinder or a mixture of top and/with bottom eg: 1mm on base and 0.5mm on the top at the same time Or 0.75mm base AND 0.75mm top Or any combination that adds up to the 1.5mm difference. Remember you could also add more than 1.5mm,All depends on the cylinder timings you want and the size of squish your aiming for at the cylinder head. Also some cylinders are made to use with a 60mm crankshaft so don't use the 1.5 mm spacers.😉 Mij☺

What transfer and exhaust timings did you settle on bud?
Just noticed their is a 7° difference in the transfers on the alloy and iron kits, the exhaust ports are pretty much the same degrees tho!

Mij☺ 174/120/27 then the 0.5 base spacer and a 1.5mm head spacer... I wanted 1.3 head spacer but couldn't find a decent gasket so I settled for a 1.2 squish

It's passed the leak down test. And had the engine running. Started up first time. I just need a little help with earthing the rear indicators I made another thread about it. If anyone could help thanks

The scoot is all running now I have been out on it a couple of times. Now all the lights have stopped working which is a bit annoying and my battery when running reads 11.2 v and 12v when not running
Any way here is a video

Yeah the lml is all standard still. The plan is to do a full rebuild any way.. The parts are so cheap for these scooters. My crankshaft for my two stroke motorcycle was £600. So this I going to be a nice and quick project. I would recommend you have a look at the rest of mista freak mopeds youYou playlists , before you purchase anymore parts 😉. Mij☺ Does anyone know where I can get those Boyesen reeds in the UK? Apparently KDX80 ones fot the standard LML reed block. The modification looks quick & simple.

Hi Bud,Have you been out on the road with it yet? How are you liking it? More hp there if you do more porting at a later date, if you wish, which is always a good thing 😀.

Mij It has alot more torque than a standard 125 much nicer to ride. I have done about 500 miles on it.. I'm probably going to leave it as it is at the moment might change the sip road 2.0 to a bigger sports exhaust.. Very happy with the engine
