I'm with you on the levers Henri, just sent for some non-adjustable dog legs from a shop in Halifax. Under a tenner. I think you will be right about the Mallosi springs. Pivots seem free, cables are lubricated and feel good with no binding, just heavy springs. I'll find out as & when I take a look in there. (It ain't broke yet!) Helen still has to do her CBT. (Seems not to be one of her top priorities.) In the meantime I can tollerate the clutch. What is more when she goes on to the insurance, I loose my pillion carrying cover. That doesn't seem right - tight t**ts.

Was talking to my (small handed) mate about the thumb wheel adjustable levers and he says they are too far away from the bars for smaller hands. Also about the same levers, I have had more than 5 pairs and never had a problem( XL glove size hands, tho), never heard of them un-adjusting till now,( not saying some don't un-adjust tho)😉 but have heard of the adjuster wheel seizing (scootering magazine wrote this about these levers, I believe.) These ones beedspeed.com/products/vespa-handle-bar-levers-dog-legs-adjustableAgree the CR plated clutch may?be overkill, but not sure about shytalk's engine tuning setup, apart from it being a 166 Malossi and this clutch may be cheaper than a good standard Cosa style clutch that Helen may get ,so only fair shytalk should get a new clutch, should the need arise 😉. www.mp-maschinen.com/omgshop/vespa-tuning/largeframe/kupplung/926/kupplungskorb-px200-fuer-hondabelaege?c=26 I have a drawer full of old style 6 spring clutches that have cracked baskets and are smashed into many pieces, they are off Malossi 166 and Polini 177 iron kits, that had next to no tuning, I personally would not use an old STANDARD type 6 spring clutch on any engine with a kit fitted, especially a kit that needs/likes revs like a Malossi but that's just my own opinion 😉. Could also have one of these fitted if you win the lottery 😂👇 www.10pollici.com/en/homepage/classic-vespa/engine/clutches/largeframe/clutch-basket-6-springs-reinforced-parmakit-for-vespa-largeframe-titanium.2.1.35.gp.2474.uwwww.10pollici.com/en/homepage/classic-vespa/engine/clutches/largeframe/clutch-crimaz-cmx-for-vespa-largeframe.2.1.35.gp.5623.uwClutches, clutches, clutches 👇😉 www.10pollici.com/en/homepage/classic-vespa/engine/clutches/largeframe/products.2.1.35.sp.uw?orderBy=descA&pg=1Here is a link to the Vespa sequential gearbox selector (not cheap) but interesting 😉. scooterlab.uk/vespa-sequential-gear-selector-motorino-diavolo-news/Mij☺

I'm impressed! - although it's doubtfull that any of that exotica will ever be needed as I don't race any more, not even on a pretty little Vespa.

Hi Mij, I generally get well over 100000 miles on a 4 wheeler clutch (Done it with one of them I bought at 195000 then I put 100000 on it in 3 years - presumably clutch was changed before I got it) I do like the exotica/good engineering but I also like oe/standard when/if it works well. When it doesn't then I fit alternatives.

Yesterday I had one of those disconcerting moments when I had to abruptly change direction. A hefty lunge with right boot against a car door sucessfully saved the scooter from any unsightly scratches (accompanied with shouting t**t!! to make me feel better.) I must have been a bit shaken as it took 3 attempts to put the correct code in the keypad at work. The car driver didn't come back for more which is just as well. My scooter has a red frame with Ivory legshields & side panels and is really hard not to notice -what's more I was on my own side of the road. In contrast today had an uneventfull ride to work & back.

Takes more than that to put me off. Bike brakes & my reactions worked fine, scooter remained steady & upright. Also nowt I haven't encountered more than once in the past. Does get you riled - I could probably have got by without the kick to the car door, but when your that close why waste the adrenaline?

I had a nice 40 mile ride this evening, most interesting thing that happened was, a couple of guys in their 30's, stopped in a car beside me at traffic lights and asked how old my scoot was,on replying 18years old, but the oldest one I've had was registered new in 1965, they look suitably impressed, they then asked what my scoot was, on telling them a Vespa Px with a 200 cc engine, they started nodding and smiling in appreciation, I drove off smiling that the word MOPED, was never mentioned.☺
It's the small things that can brighten up one's day 😉
Ride safe.

The overwhelming response to the "ping pang pong" has been positive. (rather more so than in the past as a r****r on hairy motorbikes although it was hellish fun!)

Just been out for a 20 mile run after work while I still have the chance, as when the kids go back to school I'll be confined to a mini bus.

Just got scoot out of garage, ridden across damp grass, then like a right tit grabbed a handful of front brake. I'm 60, first rode a (powered) bike when I was 11 and I still haven't learned! Minor dent on left side panel courtesy of walking stick.

You didn't reenact the classic John Cleese moment using your walking stick instead of a branch did you??? 😂

Very good! But no, bike fell on stick handle, just felt a bit silly, although I told Helen my missus almost straight away in a "you'll never guess what I've just done sort of way". (The previous time I fell off I was in and out of hospital several times, initially for 3 months straight & some bits never healed, so no secrets.)
