Not sure what it is you are asking?
You had no insurance as you were riding with no license.
Best see if you can repair it without breaking the bank.
And get booked in to do your proper test ;-)

I am not sure this is 100% legal but my mate had someone crash into the back of his car, he did not tell his own insurance, and told the other party who were to blame that his insurance was 3rd party only and claimed the other guys insurance. The reason for not telling his own insurance was even though he had a no fault accident his insurance would still go up as statistically if you have been in an accident then you are more likely to have another or some pish like that. They paid out for a repair. You were lucky no police involved as they check cbt etc. I know more guys riding around on CBT than full licence! and this leads to px200 logged as 125 on v5 etc etc

Call the other guy up Tell him you found a garage that will fix it for £150 cash He won’t want to lose his no claims bonus, and 9 out of 10 have at least £150 excess. Other guy pays you £150,put it towards your repair, You get taught a lesson, IF YOU HAD A BUMP AND YOU ARE AT FAULT,,WOULD YOU NOT PAY £150 ..AND FORGET ABOUT IT ? ps not the kinda thing I’d do 🙄

i can`t see why you couldn`t just sit CBT and carry on as before as long as nobody informs plod and no charges/points etc for riding without valid licence.

One other question which I think could be sticking point once I've fixed scoot and passed CBT what about insurance do I inform previous one or go with someone new who specialises in insurance after accident/banned etc( I'm not banned but not cosha)

I would just keep insurance up to date and stay with existing company unless they start to get sticky about it, do not let policy lapse, pass cbt, fix scoot and just let them know you are back on the road. If you have not told them that your cbt has expired then just say you don`t need loan scoot and carry on as if nothing has happened.

My mrs would kill me if she knew about this (she works in insurance) , another piece of advice is if they don't ask for anything, don't offer anything. Just "smile and nod".

what ironsloth said , as in usa forces "dont ask, dont tell" . you told me ya cbt guy was alright about "repeat offenders" an was only hard core on 1st timers . if they ask for a cbt ,go see him an do a cbt an see if his eyes get blurry when writing the date .or say youve lost it an ask him for a replacement with good dates ,i'm sure there will be a "administration fee" , H.

It’s a sticky situation.
Your insurer said insurance was in force as you told them you have a license, they will not check that as they take your statement when you took out the cover as fact.
It is your responsibility to be honest with the facts, this goes for when you get a quote or renew, you cannot fudge your answers, or not disclose something you know would effect your quote or cover, this will only come back to bite you if you ever have an incident.
You have breached the terms of you contract with your insurer, so they are entitled to withdraw the cover, if you tried to make a claim, they would check all the facts and quickly work out that you had no license, so you had no insurance. Even though your insurer will be claiming from the other party, they may choose not to do so as technically you were not insured with them at the time.
It would have been best to not report the incident at all, but now it is out there you run the risk of highlighting to your insurer you had no license, so if it were me I would say go with what was suggested earlier, either do a cash deal with any other party, or just suck it up as “experience” sort the damage yourself and move on.

Cheers for reply bryno think I'm gonna have to suck it up as experience and sort it myself hindsight I probably shouldn't have reported it but we live and learn anyway got CBT booked in for next weekend and policy is still running so fingers crossed

Sounds like the best option mate, I really don’t think it’s worth taking the risk to pursue the claim and landing a conviction for no insurance.
But that’s just my opinion, as someone who racked up a full set of 12 points a few years back lol :-)
As you have already reported the accident that will stay on record whenever you apply for insurance (I had the same), you just need to tell them every time that you never progressed the claim and it dissapears eventually, just an annoying reminder you’ll get every year!
Get your test done and problem solved forever ;-)
