I want to weld peddle bike chain around my cut down legshilds but there not stranded legshilds they've been made from sheet aluminium as there's a patern on one side to show off. when buying the project I didn't realise this. bike chains are steel and welding steel to aluminium I've been told isn't easy..what I want to know is my friend has never brased...should he use mig or tig welder? and how do you reach into the small space of the chain so the weld isn't seen?

Can't quite remember where I've seen it, may have been when learning basic welding during an engineering course at college, or when a mate and I went to night classes to learn more about welding, anyhoo, seem to remember welding rods that had two different welding materials together in one rod, for, say left side of the rod for steel and right side of the rod for aluminium, may have made it up tho, as it was a long time ago.
Found something similar to what I remember/ made up lol 👇
And here 👇
A quick search came up with this 👇.
Good luck.

Never tried gorilla glue, But tiger seal is fantastic, touring cars use this stuff to stick body kits to the cars thats why I used it years ago, turbo body kit on a ford Orion, And still use it for the mk2 escort Get it in black or white,And it can be painted,,And when your finished you can cut it off,

I've gone with taking the old shelds off and buying new to much of a b-ache as aluminium is so hard to weild to steel...can be done but if not done right the weld is not strong enough...thanks for the comment and help..
