I'm about to rebuild my 2012 125 and I would appreciate some feedback re the final drive oil seal. Should I put another sealed bearing and internal seal in or is it worth blocking the little hole in the housing and fitting an open bearing and external seal. My worry is that after only 8k miles from new the old sealed bearing was completely dry barring a bit of black sludge. Also if the consensus is for an external seal, what do I block the little hole with?

I hate those internal seals and always change to open bearing (open,at least on gearbox side) external seal, self tapping screw and araldite works.

Yeehah I've just realised the seal and bearing I've already got are external and the little stainless self tappers I got for the brake back plate fit the little hole. So Jim are we talking ordinary Araldite? On the external seal am I right in thinking its the back of the hub that forms the seal rather than the drive shaft
