You do sometimes need to fettle keys a bit to get them to fit nice, depends on the quality and finish of the key.
I'd take it off the crank and check it slide through the slot in the clutch ok, may be a bit tight and need a bit of fine dressing with some wet and dry,
Or there may be a bit of a lip on the slot in clutch which may need to be tidied.

It slides through the clutch fine, not tight at all.. It sticks out of the slot quite abit though, that's the only key they sell at Beedspeed though?

check an make sure theres nothing stuck in the slot ,an with tight keys they can sometimes need a tap with a screwdriver an hammer to fully seat them .an thats a light tap ,should be enough .did you get the key from beedspeed ,as recently ive heard nothing but complaints ,wrong stuff sent/bad quality/etc . Jellerby, try sanding the woodruff key with some wet and dry sand paper till in fits in the crank keyway, also check the crank keyway for burrs( as bryno says 😉), OR... buy a few Quid's worth in the hope you get a woodruff key that fits, I buy 5 or 6 at a time as they seem to vary slightly in size and more often than not one fits.
Good luck. Mij☺

That's the first of me getting signed in, since my last post, my fault,as was changing my email on here and typed in .com twice on my new email address, only noticed and managed to get a verification code now! Henri must have been on at the very same time as me, because only noticed his post as I tried to sign out, but it wouldn't let me sign out or add new posts? Then about 30mins later, it signed me out.
Anyway, I also sometimes, have used the technique Henri described above, but was a bit wary of saying so on here, incase the "criminal" word was used again, against me or my mate's mechanical actions.😂😂😂😂😴😱. All the best. Jim☺

Wasn't thinking criminal Mij, it was autobutcher instead!! I've also had to use the persuader in the past to get them in but I consider myself as less than novice, that's why I very rarely comment with anything useful! 😆

Cheers for everyone for th input, clutch is all in now. I've put the cover on and there's a small gap at the bottom right near the Xmas tree bolt, is that how it should be or it the cover warped? Everywhere is sealed.
