Hi folks, hope you can help me here, pretty new to Vespa mechanics, having a problem getting into third gear, I have to clutch and rev engine for third to engage, would this be a clutch issue or gear selector problem, thanks

Could be a worn cruciform, or a buggered selector.... Not 100% sure, but someone else will know for certain...

let me guess , its a bit tricky finding neutral at standstill/lights aswell . ya clutch needs adjusting up a bit ,the sweet spot is theres 1.5-2mm movement at lever end before ya feel it engage .measured between lever an headset/handlebar gear changer ,not outside end of lever. if this dont make it better ,disconnect gear cables from trunnions in selecter box ,just undo the bolts dont need to remove em .an try a move gearlever to 3rd n 4th position .if it wont go means the bars binding in the headset or the 2nd/3rd/4th gear cables got damaged an is trapping the inner .had this last week an had to limp home in 2nd , cable had come out of guide an touched exhaust ,melting the nylon inner sheath .
