Hi,
Apologies ....although I'm a long term motorcyclist....I'm not a scooter rider (ignoring a Vespa 90 I rode over the local hills as 14 year old 40 years ago).
I happened upon your club doing a bit of research for an elderly neighbour. She has a T reg PX 125 in her garage with about 6000 miles on it. Her daughter bought it from new, used it for a couple of years and it has remained under a blanket in the garage ever since. Having a quick look - it seems to be fine - dusty and dirty but otherwise OK. It does appear to have some strange chrome bars on it which culminate in foot rests on the boards??
Because she knows I ride and tinker with bikes my neighbour has asked me to help sell it. I suspect (?? hope ??) that given a carb clean, oil down the barrel, fresh fuel / oil, etc - that it could be got going. It was apparently fine prior to going into hibernation.
My suspicion is that even fully cleaned up and MoT'd it wouldn't be worth a great deal (~£1k??) so it's not worth paying a professional to undertake any form of rest or work? So the alternative would be to assess the state, hopefully prove it's a runner and find an enthusiast.
So I'm seeking your advice and knowledge of the market to try and help me do the best for my neighbour.
Thanks
Doug

t reg , an early 70's one ,if its after , 77 which would be a mk1 non-indicator an more valuable . but i'm guessing its the later t a 99 . with out seeing it as a non-runner i'd guess 700-800 . running with mot around the 1200 mark ,more on the right day depending on body condition .H

Thank you Henri for your advice. Yes it's definitely a '99. I'm keen to drag it out of the neighbour's garage and see how close to being a runner it is. I'll stay contacted with this group as I'd rather not see her ripped off by a dealer and to seethe Vespa go to a genuine enthusiast - might even see if my daughter is interested! Thanks. Doug
