I have a dr180 kit and it revs more than it goes, so need more teeth on the clutch to increase the gearing, I am not after a super fast engine, more for distance riding, so any advice on what I should be looking for? Also in the near future I am looking at getting the bgm 177 kit and a long stroke crank, so don't want to have to change the clutch again. Any advice greatly appreciated. Adrian

I think a T5 Cosa clutch should do the job, but there are people massively more experienced than me, wait for them to comment.

What clutch gear do you have at the moment? A Bgm 177 and long stroke crank, will have a lot more torque and/ or revs depending on how you set it up? than a DR 177. Kit, so if that's your plan you could well end up having to buy a clutch drive gear for the DR kit and ... If you have a look at the gearing and clutch, that scooterlab used on Their BGM177, in my opinion it's too high for the DR kit. Try going up a tooth on the clutch for your Dr kit, then getting a stronger complete clutch along the line of Scooterlabs ,when you buy the BGM kit and the crank. www.scooterlab.uk/fit-tune-bgm-177-kit-part-1-workshop/Mij☺

confession time , when i had it apart adrian i didnt think to count teeth , stock it should have 21 teeth on clutch centre .but guy i bought it from was a lammie an t5's man so theres a chance its a t5 20 tooth 7 spring clutch in it . memorys saying its a 6 spring but not sure . either way it should pull a 22 tooth centre real nice an give you the longer legs you want .pop clutch cover off an count springs before you order a new centre tho. a stock 7 spring an 22 tooth centre clutch will go nice with a bgm an long stroke ,tho i have heard mixed reports on the bgm kits .lot of teething problems an dodgy piston ring pin woes , for a tourer rather than screamer i'd personally go with a polini .H

Thanks for that H Even more to think about, have decided to go for a cnc clutch , as I remember all the clutch issues I had in the 80s, still think the bgm kit is for me, but will look at the other options, and maybe ring a few dealers and get there opinions
