Brilliant idea, swapping centers. H. I'll have a dig through my parts stash, but I think this might be a free 12v upgrade!

Today I've mostly been... Impressed by my mates tight Scotsman's injenuity!
The carb on his SIL GP200 was blocked, he's tried carb cleaner, air line etc and he even priced a sonic cleaner on eBay, Β£38 according to him, then in his words "then said f?ck it, will try sticking the stripped down carb in a pat (pot) and boil the lot in fairy liquid and bleach for half an hour on the cooker lol and hey f?cking presto it worked!!" ππ.
Please do not try this at home and if you do I take no responsibility for any injuries or damaged caused!
Today I also removed a low mileage PX125 disc engine from my cutdoon and give it to my mate Kenny, along with a Polini 177 iron kit, an uprated gear kit, a competition crank and a Utah screen that fits his T5 172. Fitted my Malossi 166 MK2 engine in my cutdoon for wheeling about reasons at the moment, till I strip it for painting when I get around to it.β

Right been away for a week so a brief summary Missus bike headlight not working, bulb gone I thought. Took headlight out of bucket, sealed beam. Toddle down to wemoto to get another , Β£130 nothing there else to fit. Cue biker mate walking in and says just get a car one from the parts place up the road. Off I trek, first guy behind counter says "oh yeah Wipac mini conversion headlight with H4 bulb but you have to buy a pair for Β£40" Second person says " We keep getting them delivered with one broken, have one for Β£20" Sorted Drove to Cornwall in the Mercedes Karmann motorhome, get to Portsmouth and lorry overtakes, drops a brick on the screen and makes a hole. Carry on to Cornwall with huge crack appearing. Call windscreen people who take 4 days to get hold of screen They turn up at the campsite, spend 2 hours scratching their heads as they've never seen our model Mercedes before. They give up so we drive home with more cracks than we started with Get home, take the front end apart ready for more guys today and finally get it done. Put it back together tomorrow not so brief but I haven't done anything scooter related for ages

Today I have mostly been sulking..
After running my Rally into the Mini engine taking up my valuable garage space, chipped the fekkin mudguard, first paint chip in 7 years and I did it myself.
Tomorrow I will be pushing the Mini engine onto the drive and setting fire to it!!

Post by henri on Aug 12, 2017 11:52:00 GMT
oops , well i did suggest you send the mini engine down to oz near me to work his magic on it ,wouldnt of been in the way then .sorry couldnt resist the "i told ya so" . saw some cranks an heads he'd done recently ,pure artwork/magickery . check out OAP racing , thats his firm . an today ive mostly been moving stuff around to get the space to start "project pocket-rocket" , top-secret at the moment will say words/names like DRT/quattrini/crimaz/avotechina an liquid cooled are involved . an whilst moving stuff ive cleared a path to back garden for railway sleepers to pass thru, part one of "henri gets a painting shed" saga .an bryno i promise 1st chassis in will be the v90 i got from ya , the guilt from seeing it sit in primer for 10 months now on top of a mates xj600 is killing me .in my defence my garage was so full i couldnt even see it for 6 months ,but i'm on top of that now .H

Today... and yesterday, I got talked into getting my polishing machines out by a mate who wanted some parts for his Lamwettaπ done, forgot what a messy dirty job it was and won't be doing anymore in the near futureπ΅. Also had a look through my Si carb spares and found good Dellorto 24/24e and G carbs, as well as a spaco 26mm G carb amongst all the spaco 24s, so will be firing the Delly 24e on my 200 motor for now.

Finally the cutdown has been unearthed from the far corners of the shed.... Hopefully the LD horn cast will make it on the frame, got a 1 day window to get it done at work... Then the boss comes back.... Might even get my backrest made too... Fingers crossed. π

P.s, it's been getting a bit quiet on here at times ,(I sometimes just put stuff up, even if it's not ground breaking or whatever,, to try and liven the place up!π.)
Can members please think about posting something, please? anything is better than nothing, how about starting a thread and telling us about scooters in you area? Or something? ,
around me is pretty quiet for scoots maybe 30 scooterists or less in a 10 - 15 mile area. Maybe you have more or less? I'm sure some of us would like to hear your story.
Or.... seen any good YouTube videos we may like?
Or ... Any website/ we may like?
or ...bargains π?
Or.... Good tools or parts?
Or something else?
If anyone is worried about spelling or punctuation, please don't, I'm pretty sheet at it but give it a go.π±
P.p.s I'm very jealous of Henri and mushroom's area, Brighton, when I see it on YouTube, with all the scootersπβΊ. MijβΊ

As for scoots on the road around me, it's very rare I see them. I went at least 2 years without seeing another Vespa when I first got mine (October 2006). Now I live 5 minutes away from lincs Lambrettas, and back to seeing next to nowt again... With 1 exception of a Lambretta trike in lincs workshop (there are others in there, nothing like this though...) it's running a kitted 125 I think, with a rear chain driven axle from a quadbike... Very nice (for a lamby... π)..

Yup you're right, tons of vespas in Brighton There's 4 on my kids schoolrun. I've still done nada on the Sportique for months Kids summer holidays got in the way, wife's a teacher and she gets 8 solid weeks off We did 6000km in the Merc motorhome, including 5 nights in Cornwall, home for a week, then a 10 nights bast through Wales and Ireland 2 nights in North Wales - ferry to Ireland - 4 nights in Newcastle Co. Down visiting some of the kids including Giants Causeway. 2 Nights in Castlegregory, over the Conor Pass to Dingle, back across to 1 night in Rosslare . Ferry to Pembrokeshire 1 night in Whitesands Bay and home. Stuck the motorhome in for an MOT and it passed - no advisories so we squeezed 3 nights in the Lake District last weekend I'm all camped out. Got tons of jobs still to do and the Vespa has been pushed back even further. Might buy a bike for a winter hack Phew, sorry for not posting anything Jim

Henri, I'm very sorry and embarrassed for only noticing your posting, just now.π³π³π³π³π³π³π³
Congratulations to you and Mrs Briggs on your wedding. Sounds like you had a night to remember, along with a bar bill to remember. Are you sure the two photos are of the same person as you scrubbed up well, mate!π The ladies all look beautiful in that photo, you should be very proud.βΊ
I see you went for the same style of classic black three button suit as I wore on my wedding in 1999, my Mrs made me get wed after complaining an 11 year engagement and two kids was long enough!πππ.
Best wishes to you both.

P.p.s love the photo of the " mod Weekender" did you get any cheeky remarks fired at you? π

Today, I've mostly been... having a closer look at the bars, forks and mudguard on the blue vespa in Henri's mod Weekender photo, liking what I seeππ and hoping he has more photos and info on it? and wishing I could have a go on a Cosa 200, as I've heard they drive well and have always liked the look of them for some strange reason!?
Also I posted more links on the ..." want to tell us about any interesting websites?" , In the hope someone's interested in them and hoping more members will post links (please).
