Afternoon all. Just wanted to introduce myself. Received my first scooter, a 2000 PX125 as a surprise from my wife for my 30th. Scoot is as you would expect for being 17 years old. Thankfully the farther-in-law has been racing Vespas for afew years now so I've got technical support on hand 24/7 (although he is 400 miles away in Scotland) and He's made sure it's mechanically sound. Only thing for my to do is tinker on and learn the ins and outs of it and do the cosmetic work. Front mudguard is pretty tatty so gonna paint that up as the first big thing I do. Taking it off seems like abit effort so probably going to mask and paint for now and repance at the end of the year. Also gonna do the floor pan and rails. I'll join the nuts vs pop rivets debate when it comes to it. Anyway. Hope you enjoy the photos. Hopefully I'll get some more up when I start doing some work. First job is to get rid of the shiny bits. Not a big fan of chrome. Looking forward to getting my hands dirty. Cheers. Kriss.

Chrome doesn't get you home! I fitted a fibreglass front mudguard, no more rust problems! Mid Norfolf Mouldings (midnormould on eBay) sell either a seamed or de seamed one.
Welcomed by the way.

Cheers for the welcome. I was thinkng of possibly going fibreglass. I've also read a lot about the down fall of the seams on the metal one. Seem they are just a rust trap.
Gonna stick some new grips in today and stick some essentials in the glove box. ✌🏼

Had a little mission up to Epping this morning. Pretty fun getting to open it up on the forest road. Got a nod off a biker and met a nice dude on a lovely old PX. First Vespa buddy. Enjoy your weekends. 👌🏼

Rust trap isn't the word for it, I suppose you could go for a series 3 Lambretta mudguard or a hugger mudguard. No faffing about with dropping the forks then....

Cheers. Nah, I just turned around in the Village. Was still buzzing of the pot of coffee I'd drank before I left. I did spot it though. Will have to have a stop next time.
