Today I have been mostly painting things black. I also taped the chrome bit on my mudguard black but I'll not offend your eyes with that.

Painting things black... Again. Got some standard grips too. Again, wanted black. We'll happy with them. More like my bike. Also painted my rim black and a new light peak painted and fitted. And for ghetto effect, a black taped my stand. βπΌπ€πΌ

Hi, are you not painting the horn grill too? Does it come out? I thought it might have been part of the whole piece. I'm guessing it's just a clip in/out job?
If I can get it off I'll paint it black.

Hi, it was a while ago i did it but it does come off via the horncast... think its from inside the toolbox with by the two screws near the middle take off the horncast, being careful with the two clips that those two screws went into from the toolbox unclip then horn grill will come out easily careful putting it back together, remember to reattach the horn and minding the wiring area with the horncast careful not to overtighten the two screws into the clip or they can break all the best

Back in 1990 I'd just come back from India and was riding my bright orange PX around Brighton. Pulled up next to a skin sparking his cutdown Lambretta. He started chatting away, but as soon as I took my helmet off and my shoulder length curly hair fell out he stopped. He took one look at my purple baggy trousers and tie-dyed t-shirt and walked off It's a funny old world

Warning, warning warning. Graphic description of accident!!!!!!
Today I've mostly been feeling sorry for my very good scootering mate (Bro) Kenny and his American wife Shelly, they got the shocking news last night that Shelly's son (Kenny's stepson) Steven was killed on his motorcycle in the USAπ’π’π’. Kenny says he hit a guard rail, lost his arm, leg and severed his stomach through to his spine and died in his mates arms, before the ambulance got there.

Oh that's a harsh way to die Today I have mostly been covering myself in dirty stinking burnt out clutch on the wife's CB400 Superfour Apparently it's an EBC fitted 2000 miles ago Guy we bought it off is chasing the ebay seller he bought the clutch off. Reckons it's a fake I've never seen clutch friction plates with material on one side but nothing on the other Leaving the clutch plates to soak tonight and then putting it all back together tomorrow with fresh oil

Mushroom that clutch is a bit of a p*sher, sounds like your on top of it, tho!
Your misses sounds like she's a petrol head, your a lucky man ππ, my misses isn't interested! although mine liked going up the highlands for days out, when I had a 1 owner , low mileage
Suzuki gs650gt, my misses theory was 80 mph plus driving is the reason to have a bike, she won' t go on a scooter as she say' s they are too slow! I've tried to tell her the score, but given up and
anyway it let's me out to play with the boys and was good to get away with them for the weekend, when I used to do lots of rallies π

Yes Jim, clutch all done now, she's all set for the commute in the morning. She is a petrolhead, we've had aircooled VWs for the past 34 years She does all the welding and bodywork, I do the mechanical. The 1960 VNB1T we've got was going to be hers as she likes the classics but then we realised she couldn't do her test on it so she bought a VanVan Did her CBT and bought a Honda Benly CD200. Couldn't get on with that so we found a rare 200cc VanVan but she got knocked off it. While that was written off she bought an imported '76 KZ400 deluxe which she registered and rode for the last 2 years. Engine seized before xmas so we got a 400 Superdream while I worked on the KZ engine ( taken a backseat for the Sportique in the shed) Superdream got nicked so now the CB400 Superfour She's only had her full license for the last 5 years but she rides in all weathers, she loves it I can't get her back to scooters now shes tasted the speed of bikes but heyho I get the VNB

My Mrs is a petrolhead, but she hates two wheels. One of her mates mums got impaled on an iron fence, she was riding pillion. That kind of stays with you. On a lighter note, she used an Anglia 105E until it failed miserably on severe tin worm! She now has a 205, amazing little machine! She also has a Sunbeam Alpine (59 to 68 little sports car) so I've got no chance getting her on the scoot! I've also got a 105E, one day I'll finish it along with the scoots..... π

My neighbour used to work at Thomas Harrington Ltd. Amongst building coaches they converted Sunbeam Alpines to make Harrington Alpines. More info at www.harringtonalpine.org/index.php?categoryid=1He had one in his garage waiting to restore it, sadly he committed suicide a few years back and it never got done Not his car His car you can just see in the back of this pic from 2003

That's awesome, think hers is an Armstrong Siddeley body, I'm not too clued up, I prefer old Fords/Vauxhalls/Volkswagens myself. Shame about the suicide, as we are part of the Association of Rootes Car Clubs. It would have been great to listen to all the stories.

Yeah he was a mine of information, lovely guy. He died in his early 60s, alone with no family. Never married He was probably in that club at some point. He was always off to Goodwood for fancy dinners, he knew Lord March well. He used to sprint a Clan kit car in Brighton Speed trials as well. I was lucky to have known him, just wish he hadn't done what he did
I've just found this youtube clip of one his friends playing some music in dedication to him

Mushroom, ironsloth it is a shame, I've know a few people that have attempted/done it. It's a shame their isn't more help for mental I'll health and sad the way some people treat sufferer's. When I post things about my health or my friends,it is my small way of saying it's OK to speak about your health ( physical or mental) if your a man and it's healthier too. It doesn't make you less of a man!
Mushroom your neighbour sounds like he was an interesting guy.
Ride safe

Ah yes the Clan Crusader. They were fibreglass bodies, Imp running gear and a very thick rope rollcage dipped in wax for lightness! When they were homogalated (wrong spelling) for racing, they didn't have the required 250 cars (they were short of about 50-100 cars). They walked them through the front door and showed them the cars on the lines etc. as they walked through the back door, it was all hands on deck to move all of the cars around. As they then walked through the front doors again, no one twigged on, hey presto! The Clan Crusader barely made it! Think in the end, there was about 200 produced! At least you have the memories of your neighbour with his mad stories, it's these things that live on.
