was out tonight trying to clock up more break in miles, scooter was going fine and i have done 390 miles so far, not sure if this is relevent but i pulled in on some grass to use my phone and almost dropped my scooter, i manage to just ease it down and there was no damage but when i picked it up it took about 20 kicks to start, 2 minutes after that it was as if i was running out of fuel so i pulled over and checked, i had plenty and i could rev it no bother, i then noticed when it was in gear and the revs were high then engine was cutting out. i was about 4 mile from home so i drove it at low revs and every now and then i would try higher revs, same results, engine would just die, another thing worth mentioning, i got 3l of fuel from asda when i started out could this cause it? or could it be my main jet? i read somewhere that after breaking in you might need to change jets, i upjetted when i did my rebuild because i have a sito plus exhaust. edit: think my main jet is 122 took a picture of my plug when i got home

plug looks ok,if a tad rich .but as scoot wouldnt run high revs thats the atomisers colour your seeing there .after being on side the 20 kicks to start was probably flooding .revving out on stand but refusing to under load is one of two things .ignition circuit breaking down under load ,or carb/jet related .as it started after ya spill i'd suspect disturbed crap blocking a jet first .or partially blocked filter/tap or even fuel pipe shifted inside frame an kinking up . I have original cdi somewhere, also bought 2 sizes of main jets and started with largest, you think i should drop a size? Scooter was well heated up as i done about 40 mile, bit strange it all started after it was on its side though, after it was cutting out it was still starting on first kick.

so far i have lowered main jet to 120,changed air filter, filled with fuel, scooter wouldnt start, put the original cdi on and it went first time, then i found a loose connection in the junction box above the cdi, took the scooter out and it was excact same, changed all the jets except for starter jet, still the same, been at it all night and getting nowhere, i dont think the fuel line is kinked as it revs on stand no problem and the fuel tap is pretty new, what else should i try?
could dampness cause this? i was caught in the rain twice over the last few days

Really daft question but I will ask anyway. You have put a new shiny spark plug in, haven't you?

Tried new plug, started first kick for the first time ever but still the same problem, disconnected ignition and lights wiring, still the same, not sure what to try next.

Should always carry a spare plug. They can be really sneaky and only not work when under pressure.
When things all go weird it is often a crankcase leak......just saying.

When things all go weird it is often a crankcase leak......just saying. yeah, i have been really worried and thought you guys just didnt want to give me the bad news, BUT tonight i removed carb and stuck the original delorto carb in, which is warped btw and it went on high revs it ran like sh*t though thats why i bought the new spaco the other month, so it looks like its the carb or carb issue, the spaco one looked nice and clean and i had allready tried replacing all the jets with no joy, i took it down to my work place this evening and tried some carb cleaner and blew it all through with an air line so i will try the spaco carb again, recently i have went from 3% to 2% mixture, could this be an issue? only saying because someone asked about my mixture.

i rebuilt and fitted the spaco carb and my problem was solved, just need to fine tune now, Henri said carb problem in second post but its strange cause the carb was only a few month old and the fuel tap was replaced last year. anyway another problem solved.
