decide to go for a burpday thrash , kick scoot an kicker stays down ,had a look an a hair-line crack i knew about had chipped off around kicker .not happy, so bumped scoot an went anyway. 3 miles later starts to run like a dog so limp home, clutch side seal gone after 1500 miles use .related?, havent a clue . heres the shaft still in cases chip missing an 0-ring hangin in the breeze . an the bar-steward in all its glory .an had to cut the scrap case to get it out.an to put a "tin-lid" on it grinder died on me as i did . was going to be last thrash before strip n re-paint an a swap to px drum forks .been to local scoot-shop see-ing if he'll dig out n sell me 1 of his t5 lumps ,be the same money as a kitted px lump so makes sense . but take warning all ,what with all the rock stars dyin 2 days before there burpdays an this n other stuff on mine , spend a week in bed for ya b-day an hope the ceiling dont fall down .its the safest option . holy crap what the hell was that kick quadrant made of? i cant imagine the kick quad and clutch seal have much to do with each other i'll be ok anyway, my burp day has just been and gone, (without incident) maybe you should start wearing flip flops, you won't kick it so hard next time

piaggio part ,came from a "tuned" px engine that seemed like it was put together/tuned by a blind idiot ,i used it rather than the piaggio/lml one that was originally in the cases .there weird piaggio/lml marked cases so either 1st ones made in india or last in italy before tooling was sold . my best guess is engine/scoot was dropped at sometime an kicker caught n put a fracture in i didnt spot .or tuner had froze em an banged into cases with hammer n micro-fractured em .either way shaft n cases fecked now ,an if i wear flip flops nxt time something like this happens ,i'll get re-broke toes from kickin the crap out of scoot .cant win for losin . Have you been Moonstomping your scoots again, H? Happy birthday for yesterday. Sorry to see the damage to casings and innards; it'll give you something to play with though.

HI Mate, Oh blimey, I have come to the conclusion, that by owning a Vespa, we are paying for our sins in another life. . Thats why i also own a modern plastic scoot that starts stops and never seems to go wrong, not the same challenge i grant you but very stress free, . happy hammer and chiseling .

right ,the butchers bill . clutch bearing had started to slop in cases ,knew they was on way out when i loctited them in 1500 miles ago , this had caused clutch to wobble n touch cases an thrown tree off enough 2nd gear had brushed the case aswell . dont think this caused kicker tho. new kickstart buffer had disintegrated an been chewed an thrown up behind clutch .reckon this going thru primarys was the straw that broke camels back ,an clutch bearing housing was the weak link that gave .didnt notice it at time ,but repeated use of kicker (harder starting with blown seal)an no buffer was the cause of shaft failure is my best guess .none provable but still thats my story an i'm sticking to it ,been busy as hell last 4 months an not had time to maintain or investigate odditys on my scoots .just the old scooterist standby/default setting ,"if it will start its good to go,even if rallys 600 miles away n scoots been stood 10 months" .
